I work at a Senior Home which was built 5 years ago and is beautiful inside. These long term facilities have changed so much

What I love about your videos is that you understand and know what things are. Some of the other channels I watch by the 'youngsters' are hysterical when they try to guess what something like an 8 track or a transistor tube is. Their guesses are guite entertaining though. They missed out on so much from the old days.

I absolutely loved this video. It was quite eery. It looks like it might have been quite prominent back in the 1970's and 1980's. Thanks for showing, Tiki. :)

around 9:25 on your video there is a small crawl space access that was open last time we were there... it looks like it was some sort of storage area... very very interesting to see the odds and ends left behind...

It's sad. Places like this could be re-purposed to help low income or homeless people to get a leg up in life. Every one of those rooms was a potential apartment. Some of those facilities are small self contained cities. I've been in a few that were VERY nice, visiting relatives.

This was a wonderful tour, I see that it was from a later date, I like it better when you explore alone...that way, it feels like it's just you and me, I know that sounds selfish but I like the idea that we are seeing things for the first time together and at times I'm afraid for you...you would be surprised at some of the things I do after watching your video's; my wife says I fearless now...SOME FEAR! but I won't tell her that :)
@TikiTrex8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, this video is even older than the upload date showing as it was on my previous channel when I started sharing my explorations on KZbin in 2011. A lot of viewers gave similar feedback to yours at the time, so I tweaked my videos throughout the years to a recipe that most preferred. And nothing wrong with having a healthy fear. It only makes us human and keeps us safe. :)

This place has a very gloomy and depressive feel to it. If there's one minor blessing from having lost both of my parents at relatively young ages, it's that I was never forced into putting them in any institution such as this. Even though the long-term urgent care hospital my mom was at when she died was super crappy and terrible (it was still the best option for our part of town), it was not this bad or horrible. They even had private rooms for most everyone there! Oh, and some of those wheelchairs look ANCIENT. My mom had a basic one for when I took her places and a motorized one for getting around the house, and even the basic one was a nicer one (I even used it to sit down sometimes when I would be by my mom's side during her hemodialysis days).

Geez that was a big place, must have been real impersonal. I liked it when you guys said you take nothing. Explorers take nothing but photographs and leave nothing but footprints. Thank you. Doug.

Great Video! Do you know what led to this facility closing, and the residents being transferred elsewhere?

That "blood" on the window looks like paint-ball splatters. And the "elevator" is called a dumbwaiter-- used to bring items up and down floors.

On one door, there was a large, blue cartoon figure of a dragon (I guess), but it was so juvenile. Any idea why it might have been there?

Phenomenal job once again. For some reason I couldn't respond to your comment on your other page. I was just going to ask you whats your reasoning for doing all of this? Besides the fact that its awesome.

Why would that man with you 'imagine that Donna Wales was a big ol' gal?" WHY would he say something like that? Even if her name was spelled "WHALES" implying a very very large mammal, that is really uncool of him to say such a thing. Very disappointed. WHO IS that guy? I've seen / heard him in your other videos. Your videos are so much better without his annoying commentary! I like it when you go alone-- no one to interrupt the explorations going on. He is ANNOYING!
@TikiTrex5 жыл бұрын
Yes, he is rather annoying. That’s why he’s not around anymore. These videos are from my older channel almost a decade ago when he was around. I had transferred those earlier videos over to this channel after I first started it years ago.
