The ceiling in the living room and the fireplace, really nice, the house seems to have add on rooms. These add on rooms are possibly not permitted for build. Spent a lot of money on furniture, air conditioning units, etc. They left behind really nice furniture in all bedrooms. I'm thinking someone will eventually be back since they went to the trouble of storing a lot of things and suitcases in a storage area. You should go back at a later date and see if things have changed.

The mask is Neutrogena's Light Therapy Acne Mask. It was recalled in Australia in 2019 because the eye slot doesnt cover the eye area on most people so dangerous light was getting people in the eyes 😯 (It is however, still available in Asian & Europe...hmmmm #coincidence). Here in the USA foreign college students who graduate and return home typically leave everything behind. The day after moveout the dormitory dumpsters are overflowing with perfectly good furnishings. It would cost more to move stuff overseas than to just toss it. They do try to give it away or sell it but if they're stuck with it into the dumpster it goes. (There lines to get into the dumpsters, both for pitching and removal.)

If it wasn’t for the plaster being on the floor in the “new” bit it’s almost like it’s ready for the next lot of students to move in. Maybe with the locked doors out the back it us still being used, especially with the power still connected. Come back next year and it will most likely have new students in place. Even the front yard looks cared for.

Urbex Indigo maybe the owner isn’t aware the place is empty, just a thought. He would still be paying the power otherwise the power company would shut it off for nonpayment. Those cardboard boxes in the first room ( built in verandah) don’t look like they have been there very long as they are still like new.

If that was where I was a foreign student from say, a less prosperous country, the landlord was probably charging a good rate for the shared accommodations. If that was HERE (Canada) I would suspect the Health Department slapped a condemned notice on it, and the students melted away into the community. Not familiar with the regs, but, there are worse places I'm sure.Thanks for recording it, seems like it was a great old place,
@urbexindigo51645 жыл бұрын

A story is in there, No ? :) We recently did a demolish of a very similar house- it was on a site owned by our mining company- and had been a nice company owned home, once- built in the 1920's. The mine's expansion put all the neighboring properties into the condemned category- and systematically they had been demolished. There was one house that remained- and was used as a residence for university mining engineering students. When the house's final days were numbered and the announcement that everyone was to clear out--- the place was left just like this bungalow. They left behind food in fridges, clothing galore- even some computers. My guys boxed up a lot of the better stuff, and the university informed. The boxes sat untouched until the day- the day when the CAT dozers finished everything off. Students often have such minimal attachment to their things-- especially when their parents have paid for them. Oh well.. there's a million such endings in the landfills.......... My guess is these where Asian female students- all. That note on the cabinet -- Indonesian ? I think the house had some issues, like the collapsing ceiling, rats maybe (?)- and they were all moved to another residence(s)-- And like typical students, they up and left any and everything they didn't want to deal with. Nothing that was left behind looked of value- Always a story behind these..... its fun to try and guess them. Thanks for sharing it !
@urbexindigo51645 жыл бұрын
Hi ana :-) Yeah I think that note was indonesian , I have a feeling this one will be along the same lines as demo because to large lots 3 doors down hve already been cleared, but the ceiling giving way may have been the cue to leave this place haha :-)

I live in the United States, so I’m not well-versed on how the academic years are scheduled in Australia. I’m not sure whether classes have ended for the summer and everyone has moved out for a while? This facility appears to be perfectly usable (with the exception of the fallen ceiling of the hallway in the second added-on portion, and the areas where there is mold growing on some of the surfaces). Perhaps the expiry dates from some of the food packaging might have provided an additional clue with regard to the last time this building was occupied. I do agree with your assessment that this building was used to try to cram as many students into it as possible. This building looks pretty clean, and each individual room is pretty nicely furnished, with a desk, double bed, and a wardrobe-type cabinet. The rooms and common areas are much nicer than similarly-used buildings in the USA, at least in my experiences! Great video, as always! Thank you, and cheers!

Hi Kar K thanks for watching, School year in Australia ends mid december so perhaps this place was abandoned last year or they all left due to the owner not dealing with mold and the ceiling. Very musty in the kitchen area Summer dayz, and the thing with dust is even if a place is locked up for years with no drafts there will not be dust on anything, only when there are open vents/doors/windows allow drafts there is dust. Cheers for watching :-)

It can't have been legal, to put so many in one house, maybe the housing department closed it down, before it was filled up and the students couldn't take all their things with them. cool video

What’s student rate these day per month? $1500 each? Strange all beds were double, so I doubt you find couples to live in, so say there was 8 bedrooms, we’re looking around $14000 per month in rent!

Seems like the place may have been vacated for about a year. The place most likely had college students staying there. Possibly foreign exchange students. Could be wrong.

I'm thinking that maybe it was a halfway house, group home, or maybe a sober living home that got closed immediately once all the mold was discovered by the health dept. Whatever it was, I don't like it. It just makes me feel some sort of way. I'll pass on this one.

@@urbexindigo5164 Hahahaha. It just seems so weird since it looked like they cracked eggs in the bowl (by the stove) ready to cook. Now that I think about it, maybe it had carbon monoxide and they had to leave immediately. Whatever the case, thanks for another tour.

Just a thought, assuming it was an asian student boarding house, and looking at the date you posted this, could it have been a case of this covid 19 happened and they all raced home back to china? Silly theory I know, but maybe?

Is there a uni nearby?? Doraemon is a Japanese thing so probably right on Asian students ,,, Korean or Japanese maybe but why did they split so quickly.. Most likely council found out n stopped it because I didn’t see much in the way of smoke detectors , exit signs ,extinguishers etc which would be needed for compliance.. my thoughts anyway.. great upload champ.👍👍👍
