I just found your channel today, and have watched a few, nearly in tears. Such once lovely homes. This video brings to mind another channel, Curiosity Inc. He's located in Canada and recently bought a hoarder's house and did a series on the clean up. It turned out to be a famous artist's home, and he was fortunate to meet her before she passed. He found some fascinating things. Thank you for sharing your experiences and the respect you show.

Hi Carol just getting back to the comments now :-) I will have to check that channel out! Yep this house most definitely fell in to the hoarder list and I do know that a huge clean up has since happened and all the doors and windows re boarded. :-) It seems the vandals and scrappers got here and messed the place up. Thanks for watching Carol and welcome to the channel :-)

@@urbexindigo5164 Yeah... Only a well-cultured would have such refined taste.... As I said "love his style" By the way... I spotted the Rover, because it was my dream car... Back in the 80s when I commute to school every day I will pass by a auto garage, along the way. Right in front of the garage, it was a Rover, of a same model. One of the worker told me that the car was belongs to a white-man who supposedly to discuss with him what he wanted the car to be fixed, but he never turns up AFTER he left the car there. Since then the car been sitting there... I ALWAYS admire the car, I love the way it looks... Till one day, years later, as this City grow a lot of old structures and older building has been demolished, to give way for the, so called Progress. Now, it is all gone. Not a trace of it left... BUT, that car is in my mind... STILL.

An interesting find. My own impression was close to that of the facts you showed at the end. I wondered if the man was at one time the pastor at a church and that it closed. So much of what I could see was like it came from a church and was stored there. Sad that the vandals got to the place and basically trashed it. It was difficult to see with so many things about. I applaud your efforts for this one.

This grand old home has just about lived it’s life. Hard to make sense how much was hoarding and how much was vandalism. Most of the furniture looked around the age of the home. The cracks and decay almost seem like the natural process of dying here. The stained glass and grand hallway give a small glimpse of what must have been some glorious times. Wonderful share. Be safe. ❤️

A wonderful house. It's a shame it's being wasted. Previous owner is most likely dead. Lovely antiques, good quality. The gentleman was a book collector and a piano collector. Very like he taught piano. Probably his personal book collection, and only coincidentally, a church archive. He loved books and had a major passion for church related literature. I collect books of a similar nature. After his death, friends, relatives and associates started using the house as a storage facility. Unfortunately, vandals have been coming in and tossing things around. Obviously not the way it was when occupied. If it was, there would be pathways through the clutter and an obvious place cleared for sleeping. Sad old place. You can tell it was much loved by the furniture and photos. The auto collection is fascinating. Thank you for taking us with you to see this extraordinary location.

This was an awesome find Paul, but I have to say, I feel quite bothered and dismayed at the amount of both sentimental and valuable belongings just left there to deteriorate. I hope to God someone takes the time and effort to sort through all those belongings and save much of it. From the vintage pictures in the cellar, to the beautiful timber cabinets and shelves in various rooms and of course the vintage cars in the back yard, I would hate to see it all go to waste. It was bad enough seeing that upright piano out in the rain in the front yard! I'm guessing this is in Adelaide, but I tell you, if it were in Melbourne, I'd be down there tomorrow with gloves on, sorting that stuff out myself!

They looked like leather armchairs! My stepdad spent several years collecting old cars here in the states. He would oil them down, flatten the tires, and store them in pole barns. After about 30 yrs. of collecting, and over 200 cars, he had an auction to sell them. People literally came from around the world. He made a fortune!! Through those years us kids just thought he was going out to buy another old junkie car that didn’t even run and sit it out back. He knew what he was doing! Lol Thanks for another great video! Thanks Urbex Indigo and your footage is the best so far regarding this old Victorian villa with the classic car graveyard. According to Google Maps the property looks like is part of the All Souls' Anglican Church allotment. As the house does not have a number listed like the property next door or the Church. There is an application by the recent purchaser to do alterations to the house and construct an in-ground swimming pool and garage. This sounds promising in that this beautiful old Victorian Villa will be preserved and not demolished. Also, Barry and his wife Margaret Holding had the property since 1967. Margaret was supportive of the Mothers' Union South Australia. Finally, Barry did have offspring and surprised none of the family members maintained the property and allowed it to get trashed, as seen in the footage.

That organ is very old--the Smith American Organ Company built high-end, parlor organs as early as 1852, but the name changed to add "and Piano" Company in the 1880's, so this one must be an early one. This home is so full of beautiful antiques that I am horrified no one has saved them yet. I love the front room made into a library! Another Australian gem. The photo you found gave me an idea of how the exterior of the home appeared years ago. While the architectural style is quite different, it reminded me of Grey Gardens in East Hampton New York. Of course maybe it was just all of the clutter. I noticed four different types of wood that made up the furniture left behind. Mahogany, crotch mahogany, burl walnut and tiger oak. All superior hard woods. The archways and medallions are a tribute to the craftsmanship we simply do not see today. As for the piano in the yard, try to move one and you may quickly find out why its final resting place is the yard. They weigh a ton. So much could be said about the house and what was left behind. Was the condition caused by vandals or could the owner have collected so much it became overwhelming. I guess that will remain a mystery. And speaking of mysteries......I think it best that Miss Fisher stay in Australia until our political situation cools down. Pine Lakes will still be here. Cheers

So the meter is in the house? Which means the electricity meter reader would've had to go inside to read it but if it was unsafe for them to do so, maybe they stopped doing so and turned off the power when they couldn't charge the owner? Together with such large cracks, the house would have been condemned. But I must say, the junk that's left behind (and I believe it's been trashed as well as from hoarding) puts me off as I feel as though the house was not loved and it's hard for me to have an emotional connection with it. This house reminds me of the other house that got bulldozed recently with the vents in the roof. Such beautiful designs and grandeur. Thanks for this difficult explore Paul.

Yeah i`m not sure Nessa, tried a few of the lights but they may have been broken too. I have seen places like this many times in the USA! I have had a cleaning business for many years. It appears typical of a hoarder house.. many people in different walks of life are afflicted,by it! I have been in homes where the owners floors had a layer of money on the floor and just throw groceries in the floor and to them it was no big deal. I no longer take on places like that, cause it can cost a cleaner their health! It has a lot to do with prioritys as well, religion, books, education, cars. All at their feet, when they come home, all their favorite valuable things..to them. They can be very happy people! Usually a friend or family member calls the clean up crew! Some times money in in the floor , and animal feces! I'm very glad to be retiring in in a bit👍🙋🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Interesting video, Thanks

LL, I work in law enforcement and have seen several homes such as this, where a body has been found. Sometimes the owner has died of natural causes, sometimes it's by suicide and sometimes it can be a crime scene. The cleanup is usually covered by homeowner's insurance, and yes, without proper clothing, air masks, boots and gloves, it really can be a danger to a cleaner's health! I hope that you enjoy your retirement! :-)

WOW!!! :-D It's always the accidental finds that turn out to be the best. :-) *Sighs Dreamily* The cars remind me of those barn find cars that are usually vintage, rare and highly collectible. I L-O-V-E the old rover in the garage. It has a very similar design to my Chevrolet HHR. I would give my eye teeth for that old Rover. :-D It's definitely British and if I could afford one, I'd have one in a minute! :-) The furniture is definitely vintage and sadly, the house has foundation problems which is why those cracks on the walls and ceiling appear (the house may have been built on wet or damp ground). Foundation repair isn't cheap, but it's sure worth it in the long run. :-) It would take a pile of money to make this grand dame shine, but what a grand dame she'd be! :-) Mr. Barry looks like he had a brown tabby cat (my favorite!) and there was a kitty carrier in the corner of the kitchen. He most likely was the church archivist. I bet Liberace was crying seeing the piano in the rain. I'm glad that the pump organ is being saved. I hope the furniture and cars can be as well. What an awesome find!! :-D

Hey Paul!! Another great find. Yeah .. don't by a Rover car for sure. Ha, ha. You should get a medal for going though that place!! I was expecting rats to pop up or snakes or something. Me & my silly mind, see a 'hand' sticking up from the trash on the floor or something. Would be a mean trick to stick a rubber hand out like that for the happy spray painting taggers to find.😄😃😂😁 I've been watching a channel called 'Sprite' that has neat Halloween stuff. I found a $5. gold piece with a Native American on the front from 1910 and mint S. (Looks fantastic) And a 1795 ...1 cent coin, lady on front with a big bow (kind of toast but you still can read it) And also found a bag of Barbar 10 cent coins. 10 of them have D mints, some are rare years. (I've worn out 2 pairs of shoes!! I have no car so I walk ALOT. Did alot of 'walking' in the Army in 14 yrs, keeps ya healthy. If can sell some coins 1ST thing I'm buying is a car or truck with a cap. Ha, ha!) Back to the house here! Duh!! Do you think your tipical vandles trashed the home? Or maybe others who were bent on looking for certain things? Vandles (sp?) to me don't mess with books so much, ya think? They normally take what they would deem 'valuable', and leave, right? Or they also spray paint & tag everything. It must have taken considerable effort to get that attic ladder down... then climb up and down it right? Let alone stealing stuff from the attic. Maybe there was more then one person and they used ropes or something to get stuff down. One of my fave rooms was the last one you showed, the many books on shelves, the fireplace, the neat pretty old desk. Maybe at one point the place was used as a LIBRARY ...

I can't understand how someone could trash a place so much. Would be cool to do that car in the shed up though. Can see that becoming a v8 hotrod haha. WOW! Early to mid 1800s, makes me want to CRY! I bet there's a lot of history wrapped up in this place! The furnishings look english and french. The cast iron detailing is Incredible! You should go BACK, and go in the attic. The bathroom looked amazingly original! I bet the ladder would have folded up into the attic somehow; so unusual So Industrial! Looked Iron as well! Figures! Since there is so much iron detailing around the place! These places stir so much in our imaginations, I can just imagine the original family owning the land and evolving with the times, must've made money from some sort of industry, masons or mining and manufacturing, eventually owning a "Hoover" dealership. . .Maybe? Oh the stories this place could tell... from possibly even its' Beginning!!! Could've been bought by a church in the mid twentieth century, is there a church near by? (Go Back, do some legal digging!) Don't you want to know more about it? Really the stuff dreams are made of. Just wondering if any of the Floors were visible, Could've had ornate tile. I would probably be there for hours sifting through debris! Thanks for sharing your corner of the world! Also loved your music intro! Keep up the Epic Explores and stay SAFE!
