My fave’s where house 1,3 and 4 as number 2 gave me the creeps . Did you notice how thick the window sill as in the first house in the bathroom and the wood floors and doors wow so cool . I hope someone gets in and saves the art deco ceiling medallions as well as the light fixtures and door from the third place and the last place must of been a beauty before nature literally took over . From the wear on the carpet in this home I am wondering if it was an elderly person living in there last and that is why this place got so bad . A total tear down with remediation of the earth around where the home sat to guarantee those pest will eat up the next place as well . The second home was quaint , however with all that stuff from obvious homeless people I was really concerned for your safety as it is pretty obvious squatters are still using the place this the fresh wheel marks from the shopping carts . People loved all these homes at one time and while some have definitely been damaged by time and nature I feel the first , second and third place could of been saved at one time as you noted it did look like someone had started the undertaking of renovations in the one place , however the first thing any renovated must do is ensure the roof is water proof . Sad these homes will all be bulldozed and become most likely condos , apartments, office buildings or a mall . Thank you for taking the time to go out film these places and provide a documentation of the exist of these homes . I sure hope past people who have lived in the places you have filmed and provided documentation for see your videos so they are able to reminisce about the time they lived in these homes . Bless your soul .
@urbexindigo51643 жыл бұрын
Hi Charlene :-) Thanks for the great comments, yes the second home was creepy and did have fresh wheel marks. Also yep when the water gets in through the roof it is all over pretty much and due to that the first and third homes were left and sold. Thanks heaps for the support and for watching :-)
@Thetis0583 жыл бұрын
@@urbexindigo5164 Thank you as well for going out to these places and creating these videos for us to watch . Where i live there are not many abandoned homes or homes which have been bought up by developers. The closest thing we have had here to compare is when roads or highways are widened or the road is changed coming to close to a home the government buys the homes uses them as a place for the primary head honcho of the road crew to live in while the development is going on then they raise the home off the foundation and sell off the home after it is no longer needed . If more then one home is needing to be moved the same thing the home is sold or relocated to a storage yard of a house moving company Nicol Brother’s where people can come to the yard and look at the homes and purchase them . Guess like house recycling lol , but gives the homes the opportunity to be lived in and loved once again . There needs to be more of these companies off the island where I live doing this to many homes I see in videos like yours and other explorers which had much life left in them either being torn down for progress or bought up by developers and left to rot away while the property developers wait for the right market condition/s to tear the old homes down and either put in a new subdivision , mall , office building or yes apartments.

The first home, an ode to Adelaide volatile soils. Just failure to ensure correct foundations initial establishment of plans have lead to extreme unilateral movements, leading to physical failures. Irreparable and condemned. Due to possibility of spontaneous collapse, I doubt salvage would be attempted. And house 4, white ants and termites (different species) are another structural issue that if not controlled, cause extensive and, extreme cases, irreparable damage. Why people still build houses out of untreated structural pine, than add bark chips for landscaping, is beyond question !!.Another great series 👍👍🇭🇲

hi paul what causes the large cracks in the homes do you know ?
@urbexindigo51643 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark :-) usually subsidence. Here in Adelaide there is expansive clay soil the contracts with the seasons so we have a high rate of wall cracking in the older homes built before the 1960`s when building codes were changed to combat this issue. But there was a significant Earthquake here in 1954 which may have definitely contributed also. :-)

Beautiful House and sad from what I am seeing, and my years working with geological and soils testing in Florida, there has either been a shift of the underground soils or a huge error leveling the foundation causing the cracking of the structure which will eventually collapse and makes this place very dangerous and should be roped up with caution ribbons to warn others. Do you have sinkholes in the UK? The underground soils should have been tested before construction began. Seems this beautiful house may have been doomed from the beginning. 😧
