Reminds me of my Dad outfitting a clapped out police van in 65 so the family could tour all of Britain, Wales and the Highlands before emigrating to Canada. Some of the hills in the highlands were so steep the whole family (Mum Dad myself and my two older brothers Bob and Stu) would have to get out and push while the youngest lightest sibling 'chuckles' would be steering. The highlight for me was peeing down my sleeping Dads neck as I could not make it to the potty in time (happened only once), woke everybody, ended up in gales of laughter. We visited Snowdon my Dads prewar training ground with the 21 Airborne or was it the 22? We did this before leaving the UK for Canada in 66, I turned 12 a week after we landed in Toronto. Born in Bath Somerset, you can take the Englishman out of England but you can't take England out of the Englishman. All the best Urch and family.

Even the plywood floor “fits like a glove” is there anything the Urch cannot do? Great video Matt - good to involve / teach the children. 👏👍✊😊

Like father, like son. Junior Urch giving a little check that he’s lining up the sound deadening - like an aligned pair of gloves. 😅

Bed looks a good idea. I can imagine it will get noisy in the dead of night without some padding.

Looks really cosy, nice job. The music sounds like the intro for Topper machine , a manual machine shop in the US.

Nice job. Precision cutting with the plywood, I see. When I did mine there were cardboard templates with lots of trimmed off pieces laying around the place but it got the job done. That van will be a good memory-maker for the family. 👍🏻

Matt I was wondering can you lower the legs of the stretcher to give more headroom above the stretcher. How can you bend the metal and keep its springiness?

Slept in an elevated bed every night for 11 years as a kid, did not fall once (my brother did fall out of his every time he tried to sleep in it, so I guess it depends). It's extra hard to roll out of those campeds, you are always pulled to the middle in them.
