This is amazing! A tool almost completely unnecessarily complex, but it still works exactly as you intended. The "meat tenderizer" part made my sides hurt from laughing! Great job and keep up the good work. I could watch your videos all day!
@urituchmanpigeon6 жыл бұрын
Nick Mead thanks! It does work as intended, and by that I mean, I literally have to hold the hammer with both hands just to get it accurately in the right position, which kind of defeats the purpose. But it's still fun though.

I enjoy your videos. As a Welder I have a variety of what we call a third hand to hold things in position. But I'm almost finished with a new one just for fun. I'm beating and shaping 2" copper pipe into the shape of my own hand at half scale. It's a lot more difficult than I originally expected it but turning out really well. I can't help but giggle at the fun I'll have with it when finished with my apprentices. 🤣 I have a whole shelf of practical ones. This one is just because it's funny. All the old timers at our shop collects something and makes custom tools as well. 😀👍

Fantastic work, as always. You're easily one of my favorite youtubers. In blacksmithing we would call this a "set tool", or possibly a "set punch" though the interchangeable heads would, to me, make it the more generic of the two terms.
@urituchmanpigeon6 жыл бұрын
Alexander Hinman Thanks! That's good to know! I initially intended to make a 16 c. inspired war hammer but brass is too soft, so Iv'e decided to add a steel tip. that is when the punches idea came, so I'll pretend is if the name is still valid, but you're absolutely right.

Have you seen this? upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/32/Ms.Thott.290.2%C2%BA_079r.jpg The inked illustration on the left hand side sadly doesn't show the whole hammer, but look at the sketch on the right hand side. I have noticed you using you flat chisel with the bevel away from the wood, if you flip the chisel over, you will find you have beau coup more control over the depth of cut. The bevel rides on the material and prevents the chisel from following the grain of the wood. Your work is superb, thanks for sharing.

Glorious! I have an idea; drill holes/channels into the sleeve in which you can place the punches. That way you can pull the different bits from the sleeve. Not sure if they would stay in place but if the diameter of the holes is right they probably will.
