“And to think if it weren’t for you... I never would have danced at all.” That line always gives me chills
@Monochrome20043 жыл бұрын
it took me awhile, but then i realized that the only reason they got her into dancing was because the fake adelaide couldnt talk due to being a tether, and dancing was how the real adelaide broke free of the tether (at least somewhat i guess) at first i was like, "okay, but even if fake ade didnt do what she did, the dance still wouldve happened yada yada yada, all the tethers have an uprising" and then i had the realization and it gave me chills. like literally this entire thing happening is fake adelaide's fault. none of the movie wouldve happened if she didnt do what she did. also at the beginning of the movie, when fake ade first tells gabe about the encounter, i like to imagine that she actually remembers how it went down and since she has a soul now (cuz i suspect it took awhile for each other to properly assume their new roles), she's feeling bad for the real adelaide. like she's guilty and ashamed and that's why she was like "she's still coming for me" or something. plus she started seemingly having sympathy to the tethered children, like she knew that they were actually supposed to be her children and was feeling guilty at the end where the truth is finally shown and it looks like she's having an epiphany, i feel it's more like her coming to terms with the full effect of what her swap caused. i guess before then she assumed the same wouldve played out regardless of which side she was on but she just realized (as i did) that the tether-breaking dance wouldnt have happened without the swap
@EmmettTheGoon2 жыл бұрын
@@Monochrome2004 how does the dance break the tether? edit: AAAWWWEEEE shit wait i figured it out. By teaching the "tethered" girl to act independantly, she did something WITHOUT the first step coming from the real version. Sort of like a pipe that isnt supposed to backflow, backflowing.

It is honestly very sad. Neither were evil. Not truly. That’s the biggest secret. They both loved and could love. If they couldn’t at all. Not even a bit. Then that’s real evil. But Adelaide protected her family at all cost. She tried to protect the untethered. Red is a victim too! Absolutely. She saw Adelaide’s world upside down. But sadly no peace could be made and she ended up with a Messiah complex. And it’s just sad...the things they could’ve accomplished if it weren’t for holding onto anger. Both were born from a depraved society and both wanted to do them justice. Red saw the good in the untethered herself. So again. If they would have fought the real villains ie those who created this barbaric experiment...I think they would have been a TRUE FORCE to be reckon with.

This whole part just really fucked with me. Jordan did so well with this. It was the right amount of spook and beautiful. Before knowing fully what I knew, when fake Adelaide killed Red the way she sounded during the kill just felt... different? Like you just knew something wasn't right there. Amazing work!

I don't get why red don't even try to escape from the exit,but other the that the movie had a very complex ending! the ballet reference is amazing considering the context in odette and odile as characters with a very "black and white" vision of the villain and protagonist

Looking at this with what we know now, it's increasingly hard to know who to root for. The monster who stole a girl's life and became a loving wife and mother... Or the innocent little girl who decided to ravage her stolen world as a monster.
