US Navy's Newest Carrier USS Gerald R. Ford 1st Deployment

USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78), the world's largest warship, and the U.S. Navy’s newest and most technologically advanced aircraft carrier, is in European waters alongside NATO partners for its very first deployment. The USS Ford recently concluded Exercise Silent Wolverine, a series of maritime drills off the coast of Portugal involving 11 ships from six other NATO Allies in November, 2022.

@@jesusgutierrez6041 It's been a part naval tradition to refer to a warship as "She" or "Her." The tradition's been around longer than the United States, since the 18th century according to many sources when it was regular to have only men on ships.

Beautiful ship! a nice honor to president Ford too. Sadly, the future of warfare is so much about drones, we should fear. But that's great timing for Biden. He can get a future drone ship named after his legacy ---- appropriately so too -- you know, for the same qualities of roaming aimlessly until given directions.

I think Biden will only get a ship named after him if he makes some extraordinary contribution to the Navy as he never served, unlike Ford, Reagan, etc. And even then, I think it'll only be a small ship. If in the future unmanned ships do become a thing, most likely he's only going to get an unmanned destroyer or something named after him. But that's only if he does something huge for the Navy
