Hey bud, I wouldn't run based on where copilot takes you. It will take you the shortest route. I ran that account for awhile. It will get you into some trouble. Also whenever you start running to west virginia deep in the mountains plan out your route for the whole day before you get there. You'll lose signal and your GPS will stop working.

My birthday was on the 1st of July. Luckily I’m home waiting on a truck so I got to spend it with my family. I leave for Gary on Saturday to do a refresher then they’re sending me in a rental car all the way over to the eastern edge of Ohio to recover an abandoned truck. Hopefully it’s not filthy because I’m pretty sure that’s the truck they’re assigning to me lol. Anyway, good to hear from you and I’m glad you’re enjoying your job. Take care my friend. I was the one that told you you don’t have to go back there and latch your tandems after sliding them just keep them unlashed until you’re done with the delivery but covering that camera up can get you into a lot of trouble, especially if you bump something accidentally, Have a blessed week and be safe out there, brother

I am trying to join Roehl CDL PT, but I’m not sure what to choose, Flatbed, dry van or reefers. Please advise.

I would go with flatbed or reefer, personally. If you do flatbed, you can do van also down the road, if you decide to. Flatbed and reefer also pay better, to the best of my knowledge. But flatbed is more physical. So it comes down do what you prefer. More or less physical. I would go with reefer or flatbed, personally. I wish you the best, God bless 👍

Hey Man, been watching lots of you Roehl videos. We live in the same state. Having trouble understanding some of the state required documents to obtain the CLP

@madisonelliott4772 you should just need a dot physical that you can get at your local doctor and then your clp(commercial learners permit). So make sure you take and pass your permit test and get that first. I believe you need two forms of ID as well, to get your cdl. So a driver license and a birth certificate or social security card.

@@Donny-D843 that's how it was with me too. After I got my cdl, they showed me the 45 if I recall correctly. The training really happens while you are with your trainer, in my opinion. And even more once you get out on your own. How have things been? Are you in the gycdl program now?

I did around 2 trailers per week. They have up to 5 stores per trailer. They like for you to aim for 3 a week, though.

Are the trucks equipped with APUs?

They have inverters, buy no system to run when you truck is off. I released the tractor brakes and leave the truck running when I'd sleep.

You say in your video you were happy with $1700 week. So why did you quit trucking so fast? I followed you from when you started training at Roel. You never even lasted a year. Couldn't you have gotten a tow truck job without CDL training? I started in trucking in June and got my training at Schneider and now I'm working for them OTR Dedicated route. I'm not criticizing you, just confused why you quite trucking so fast. Anyways, good luck with your future endeavors 👍

@Dan-uy9wm I've never lasted long working for employers. I was certainly happy with the pay. I was never happy being away from my family. I was disappointed with trucking after us express. Roehl didn't pay very well for being otr. Us express paid great but had little home time. And I was willing to deal with that, for awhile. My intentions were to save and buy a roll back truck and get some experience along the way. But after us express tried to change my schedule entirely and then made it very plain that I wouldn't have a set day of coming home, ever, I left there as well. And after leaving that job, which I really enjoyed, it was hard to even consider trucking again. I can use my cdl for heavy duty towing in the future, now that I'm towing, or many other things as well, but I don't see myself ever using it again for semis. Trucking was something I wanted to use as a stepping stone, and I have, in a sense. I'm glad I got my cdl and thankful for the experience. But I'm glad to be out of trucking as well.
