I started watching this and thought, wow, what a great video...and then I saw that it was Gary Wing, and thought, oh...no wonder. Loved this.

Good stuff Gary! Thank you for sharing. Hope to start up my instrument rating soon! It's nice to hear the clearances along with route changes etc...

Excellent video series, Gary. You're very disciplined in your approach procedures, which is what I'm working to improve, so this was helpful. Great landings despite the winds and great editing. Looking forward to seeing more posts.

I stumbled upon your videos looking at commercial maneuvers, then I get to the end and you land at KLOT, my home airport, what a small world haha.

Gary, Great three-part series. Enjoyed it. Loved the commentary, especially some of the sarcastic quips here and there. Two-thumbs up. P.S. No video through the Rockies or did you somehow (whatever somehow means) avoid them? :)

I took the eastern route; Albuquerque - Pueblo - Denver both ways due to weather (rotors on the way out & t-storms on the way back). It added about :12-minutes to the route and was a much smoooother ride!

How did you like Kitty Hawk ? There have been pilots that lost it there. Capt. George’s restaurant is within walking distance it’s sort of expensive BUT all you can eat great seafood . It would have been better for you to land at KHRJ south of Raleigh fuel half price and crew car comped restaurants near .

I loved it. Even though it's vastly different than when O & W were there, it felt like hallowed ground. I was pleasantly surprised to find a really nice little museum there and opened. I spent Labor Day weekend bar-hopping along the Outer Banks and had a great time.

Enjoyed the videos! One question though. You mentioned "gear down, three green" but the picture showed fixed gear. Was this just an ad-lib when going through your GUMPS or are you using a different plane?

SwissGator Yes, *always* check the gear, even if it's already down and welded....
