So you used the Crux Prime to burn oil but you put that ball up after practice? What type of ball did you use the first game?

Went to a 1000 grit IQ Tour Solid I believe. if I'd have had urethane I'd have used that, because that's what everyone else ended up using. Normally the ball you burn the outsides up with is put away once you start scoring.

Shame there will not be a tourney this year

It hasn't been cancelled, it's been postponed until May 1. Now, here in a couple weeks, they may go ahead and fully cancel it, but for right now, it's still on.

Impressive! Great info. Wish I had KZbin in high school to learn all this. The knowledge out there is sometimes hard to achieve with limited resources. Although, I may not be bowling it major tournaments like Nationals, but this is gold. Thanks

This works if you have all 10 bowlers on board with this strategy.

Yeah, you have to be, that goes along with my point about team building too. If they're not on board, they don't go.

Does this info apply to the 2022 USBC open as well?

Generally, just this year doesn't seem to be as difficult. Shotmaking I think is most important this year, both patterns seem to be more playable, so you may not need as much strategy

Great information. Thanks. Do you have an issue if i would post this to my national team Facebook group page to share with my teams?

I’m going to say this one more time. PLASTIC BETWEEN 10-15 8 guys doing this. 2 shot makers, I mean SHOTMAKERS going up 3-4-5, not swinging first arrow. Going up 5. Our group has 2 former team USA members and 2 current PWBA players so I realize it’s not possible for everyone.

We actually tried two different strategies during the team practice session, and what worked best for us was to have some working on the track from 3-5, and some throwing urethane to work on the carrydown. We tried creating a shim with plastic and urethane during the practice session and it didn't look as good as the hybrid strategy. I'm uploading a demonstration of what we did last year, should be up tomorrow. Generally I agree though. The shim on the team pattern is more important than burning the track, because they're going to hook. For us, we ended up USING urethane during the set, which worked out really well, so we were able to work on the track in practice and really get two things accomplished at the same time throughout the first game. We just don't have THOSE kind of shotmakers, or we'd have shot a bunch.

Thanks for the info Luke. By the way shot 735 today in the city tournament I was in today, guess I'm a little better than I thought.
