I've bowled and wated bowling for 35 years in that time I've never seen a young player like Jillian Martin. I watched the Junior pba today she was the best bowler on the show even better than the male pros. I'm not saying she is over all better than them but on that night she was the best and I think she will be a huge force in bowling for many years.

She's the real deal but I'd say Landin Jordan out bowled her and hes not even theb best male Jr on the the tour..That claim belongs to Spence Robarge..Robarge is on a whole diff level.All he did last year was win the boys Jr Gold and than followed it up by finishing 3rd at the PBA Masters Major as an ameteiur

I looked for this after seeing Jillian on the PBA Jr event. I was listening to their comms as to what she's already done and I watched in awe as she was so poised for her age. What's she doing is unbelievable but, oddly, the most charming thing was her saying she hadn't yet had a 300 so finally getting to that twelfth shot in qualifying was special.

I have to say I’m totally impressed by young Jillian, how steady she is, how consistent and firm is her release, but there is one thing to me she bettered most pro bowlers I have seen including male bowlers, is her sparing of pin 10 which is 10/10, not the conversion rate but how solid are the spares, perfect angle, perfect speed, perfect release, and each shot she hits pin 10 right on the face. Solid performance!!

1:13:10: I was wondering the same thing that Carolyn was asking about concerning how many times a non member can participate and cash in PWBA and PBA events. There has to be a limit to protect the members. Jillian's bio on the USBC website says she had a 24th place finish in a 2019 PWBA event, she's cashing here and she also apparently made the show the week after this in the Hall of Fame Classic.

I have been watching the PBA since 1979. Back around 1990 I was in a bowling league at Beverly Lanes in Niagara Falls. Just to the right of us a young Liz Johnson would always be practicing. She would bowl 5 games at a time and I would watch her, so I have always been a fan of hers. And I am a fan of CDB too. But I couldn't watch this show. The scoresheet only appeared periodically and it was hard to read. Also the commentators appeared too often. I have been trained to hear but not see them while watching the bowling match.

The announcers when talking about bowling technique never mentioned that Liz Johnson was the only bowler on the show who used the 4 step approach. When is Liz going to switch to a 5 step or more steps approach and become a champion again?
@seymourbutts5633 жыл бұрын
That's pretty dumb to suggest that she's not winning because of her 4-step approach.

@@davidstakston1950 4 out of 16. What's your point? Some guys will vary the number of steps taken, look at Simonsen going to three steps when needed. Liz is arguably the greatest female bowler of all time, I don't really think you're qualified to tell her what she needs to do.
@davidstakston19503 жыл бұрын
@@seymourbutts563 Well, I'm older and wiser, plus as you age you need to make changes to your approach to add a little speed and power. When I changed (around 55) my average went up. If your a one handed, four step bowler consider making a move to 5 step. (Norm Duke takes 7 steps)

Love the coverage here but for cryin' out loud, why are women's' games not on broadcast TV? FS1 and FS2 are still showing reruns of the King of the Lanes and the PBA Clash. This would have to get higher ratings as a first-run event than those, right?
