@ShivsStudio10 ай бұрын
Sorry I don't understand, what do you mean by 'no month view in portrait'?
@GarminPro10 ай бұрын
@@ShivsStudio so when looking at the month view in the iOS calendar you see the calendar day and a dot to signify something is scheduled that day. But you cannot from a month view “in portrait mode” view at a glance things scheduled at a months glance. You have to select individual days to get the content for each date. Other calendars like calendars 5 give you better month view options.
@Omuretsu10 ай бұрын
@@GarminPro I agree with this wholeheartedly. If they just fix the month view and make it look like almost every other calendar app month view like google calendar or calendar 5 it would be perfect. I had to buy calendar 5 so I could have a month view that not only includes your calendar events but also includes your scheduled reminders which you can check off directly in the app. It’s the absolute best implementation of this. They need to fix the month view. The dot system is a terrible implementation. Calendar5 has the near perfect setup. Is this confusion only for me? I would like to have your understanding and your principle of these two, thanks again!
@ShivsStudio9 ай бұрын
Of course, I use Reminders as a To-Do list for different projects I'm working on, and for Personal and Work. Some of those To-Do's are time sensitive so I add due dates to them. Calendar on the other hand is used for events and appointments, ie. if I need to be going somewhere. For example, I would add a Birthday Party to my Calendar, not to Reminders.

Iphone's calendars are so dumb at 0:48 If it were Android, instead of gray dots i would be able to see the what i wrote down for that event without tapping to view the details. Plus i can't find a way to expand the whole monthly calendar to fit the page as a widget (without tapping on the app) like in Android phone
@MohammedSafwan-l1cАй бұрын
you can expand the calendar to view all the events in a month on ios.
@ThaiTraderUSStocksАй бұрын
@@MohammedSafwan-l1c yes with an extra tap. it's not a full page expand widget.. u get me? and i'm aware that ios 18.1 just fixed the details on calendar (instead of just grey dots) a few days ago. smh

The widgets are meant to be an overview of your calendar and events, not the full app on your Home Screen. Apple likes to keep things a lot simpler than Android.

No attachment option? Promax15
@ShivsStudio10 ай бұрын
I believe the 'Add attachment' feature is only available for iCloud Calendars. So when you go to the Calendar app, select your iCloud Calendar, then create or select an event. Then tap the Edit button, and scroll down and the "Add attachment" button should be visible.

There seems to be no way to see if there are invites in the Inbox without clicking Inbox.

That's right, you need to check the inbox to see your invites.

Very though but basic, although you did teach me a couple of things. Something about downloaded calendars would have been nice though. They don’t always work as the should for me…

This app misses one key view: a monthly view where every day has enough space to actually show the items on that day. The dots you mention can mean anything from a Birthday of a far removed relative or an all day very important work event. This poor destinktion makes the monthly view nearly useless. Greetings from Germany

I wonder why nobody seems to be bothered by the Apple calendar still not providing a decent month view, unlike basically all other 3rd party calendar apps….it makes me nervous to not see the current month being displayed in a grid, to have an at a glance view of free and busy slots….that’s why I still can’t use Apple calendar, although I love all the other fancy features.
@ShivsStudio10 ай бұрын
That’s been raised in the comments a few times, seems like a popular feature that Apple’s missing.

Thanks for the highly useful review. But, personally for me (and this concerns almost all Apple apps) - no: - no web access - no multi accounts - no integration
@ShivsStudio10 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. Could you clarify further what you mean by no web access? You can have multiple accounts by adding multiple calendars (unless I've misunderstood your comment?), and agreed, there could be more integration with other apps which may be Calendar's biggest drawback. Hopefully we see this update in iOS 18!

@@ShivsStudio I'm now between Android lagging freedom and flexibility and iOS perfectly restricted Walled Garden )) The choice of the system depends only on individual needs. If you have a MacBook and iPhone, and work only with these two - it's a reliable tool. In my case, I mostly work with Windows and Google, and have different accounts for personal and business needs. Web version of Apple Calendar and Reminders is truncated and weak: it can't show you a Google account, you can't see events from other calendars. Same to Web Apple Reminders - limited functionality.
