What a great video and well presented. I've downloaded Litchi but not flown a plan yet as I've been concerned about the drone totally flying autonomously, this gives a great solution by giving the control of speed back to me while still having a plotted route....which I didn't know can be done. Thanks again for the wisdom. 👍🏻

Thanks for the feedback! What drone will you be using this with?

A Mavic 2 Pro. I’m new to drones so taking it slowly but Litchi looks great for autonomous flying.

It is a great video. Thanks, mate. Can I ask using the Cable Cam setting, how to control the speed? Just push the joystick harder to make it flying faster? Can we reverse the drone? So how to turn left or right? Or we don't need to control the direction, the drone will follow the route we set in the litchi.
@HI-PSI
@HI-PSI 2 жыл бұрын
Correct, you use the controls as normal with these 0mph waypoint settings. This means you can fly the route forward and reverse (just don't fly to the very last waypoint.. if you do so the mission will be over and back to full manual control) it's like your drone is literally on a cable, you can film in any direction and it'll follow the path. Push right stick forward to advance through the points, pull right stick back to reverse the mission. Left stick allows you to look 360 degrees and tilt the gimbal down without fear of colliding with anything if your waypoint path is good and clear of obstacles.

I don't have my drone yet. Plan on getting the Phantom 3 standard after the first of the year. Enjoy watching your videos so I learn how to work the app before I get my drone.

Very nice video, well explained how Waypoints work with Litchi app for DJI Drones. Quick question, when you fly Waypoints mission with Litchi app, does the telemetry data / flight data show on the live video feed from the drone? If yes then is there a way to get rid of it? Thanks in advance. Keep up the good work!
@HI-PSI
@HI-PSI 6 жыл бұрын
It does show all the data, I'm not sure if there's a way to clear it. I've wondered that same thing. I do know the folks at Litchi are very quick to respond, shoot them an email and I'll bet you'll get your answer pretty quick

thanks for this just getting into my mavic pro platinum, yes it is genuinely quieter - downloaded litchi looking forward to using it what would you say are the plus points compared to dji go 4? Thanks in advance Tony

TonyGlass TV I'll be honest, these days I use each app as much as the other. GO-4 has tapfly and Litchi has good waypoints. As a part 107 operator, following the rules and being safe as possible is at the top my list... I found that using Litchi waypoints is an excellent tool to keep my flights legal and safe when I'm in public/urban areas. Litchi is nice to use because of less notifications/warnings while you're flying (high wind & airspace), waypoints are great, pano mode is good, using Airdata to go over flight log info is very nice, it's nice to have the speech option turned on because of altitude requirements on certain shots, and it still has tripod mode like GO-4. I upgraded to a P4-A a little while back, that's when I used GO-4 for the first time. DJI finally started stepping up their game and closed that gap a little. At the end of the day it comes down to what you're wanting/needing your drone to do. It's not so much one app over the other anymore.

Good video, missed it what are you flying? Does it work will with phantom 3 standard? Can it be used on more then one device? Thanks
@HI-PSI
@HI-PSI 7 жыл бұрын
Mel Zierke I'm using Litchi with the phantom 3 standard and android devices. Litchi also has an Apple version of the app but I've never used it. I know Litchi work with all consumer level DJI drones up to the mavic pro and inspire 2, not sure if it supports the spark or mavic air yet.

You set Cruising Speed = 0, in case the connection between RC and Drone lost, what would happen??
@HI-PSI
@HI-PSI 6 жыл бұрын
Andika Kamal great question! If possible, make sure you're going to be within range when flying a mission like this. Worst case, it will hover in place until the battery drains low enough to initiate RTH.

It seems like we can no longer use 0mph. The minimum I see is 0.4kmph . I guess this doesn't change much ?
@HI-PSI
@HI-PSI 4 жыл бұрын
Great question. Yes, just set to the lowest speed possible and you will still be able to manually fly forward/reverse at your stick input speed. You may lose a tiny bit of top speed when flying backwards but I have yet to run into a situation where that hurt my shots.

Z, good vid! I was excited to try it. I can't make it work with my Mavic Pro and iPhone. I believe I am setting up the mission exactly like yours. Your app looks a bit different than mine. Are using Android? When I hit 'go', I get a message the 'mission failed to upload'. Litchi app and Mavic are up to date. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Jonny Lakewood I use Android. Have you checked the Litchi manual for iOS? There could be another step or setting blocking it from uploading..

I found Cable Cam in the Litchi Manual under the Waypoint tab. The instructions aren't even close to what you are doing and it doesn't talk about IOS or Android. I did not try that method. I'll look further in the manual.

Looked like you were a lot higher than 29 ft
@HI-PSI
@HI-PSI 7 жыл бұрын
Steven Wiseman it does, huh? Part of the reason is because the takeoff location was on a hill and it doesn't compensate altitude for terrain. I would have had to program that in manually on each waypoint. But still, it looks to be a little higher than 29ft. Good eye, I didn't notice that at all making the vid.

The people who moderate the litchi forum are very quick to attack anyone who has any other thoughts as to the uses of the APP. Seems to be run like a few other sites I've been to in the past, If you don't conform exactly or put forth other ideas you are seen as an enemy. It's sad really. I'll be surprised if this comment isn't removed and I'm not blocked.
