great stuff mate, is it possible to set two different objects that react with 2 different HDRIs? One react with the stars, the other just with the regular HDRI
@BlenderForge3 ай бұрын
Good question. I was not able to find a direct answer to this quickly, but I would start by experimenting with the reflection node on the texture coordinate node in a material. Or perhaps the light paths node.. Unfortunately I don't have a full answer for you. Hopefully that helps!

I’m using hdri as backgrond and Nishita sky texture to light the scene (is Camera Ray). But a car on my scene doesn’t have windshield reflections of the clouds, but if I disable Camera Ray, I can have nice reflections of the sky but then the hdri and sky texture are mixing together. I want the pure hdri as background with reflections. Any tips?
@BlenderForge5 ай бұрын
My first thought to accomplish that would be to use the Is Transmission Ray socket rather than Is Camera Ray to mix the two.
@weeq3265 ай бұрын
@@BlenderForge Thanks! But I just figured it out. I connected is Camera Ray and is Singular Ray/Reflection Ray to a Math node and that to Mix Shader

@BlenderForge Hi, thanks for your video. I have set my nodes up in the world editor just like you've shown, with Blender 3.5. Two HDRI's with the EXACT setup as your vid. When I output the Is Camera Ray into the Factor of the Mix node, the 2nd HDRI disappears. If I use the Is Glossy Ray or Is Reflection Ray as the Factor, it seems to work good but the actual sun still shows on the HDRI that's supposed to not be showing in reflections. It's weird coz everything else of that HDRI is completely gone nicely except the sun itself. But for some reason the Is Camera Ray just makes 2nd HDRI disappear. Any ideas?
@BlenderForge9 ай бұрын
Is the sun part of an HDRI or is it a sun lamp? If it's a lamp,then this setup wouldn't do it. Or are you perhaps using Nishita Sky as your environment lighting?

Hey mate, I know it's an old video but using Blender 3.6 no matter whatever setup I use, I am still getting both backgrounds. Has something changed?
@BlenderForge9 ай бұрын
Nothing has changed in blender that would affect this setup. It would be tough to really see what's going on without seeing your node tree. Any chance you could post a screenshot or blend file on Blenderartists.org and tag @karlb ?

is it possible to make a mask on one of the hdris so we get areas where we see one and areas where we see the other?
@BlenderForge Жыл бұрын
Good question. The answer is yes...sort of. You could change the drop down at the top of the shader editor from object to world. Then you could use various kinds of grayscale textures or gradients to mix the two.

I guess I said add another HDRI but did not say how. Copy the existing image node containing the first HDRI and change the HDRI image that one is using. Make sense?

I've been using this for some time now. How would I stop the lighting HDRI from showing up in glass?
@BlenderForge Жыл бұрын
The glass would need to reflect something. What would you want it to reflect? If you want an HDRI to show as just a background image you could use an even white world as the one lighting the scene which would also show in the reflections.

@@BlenderForgecan i use 2 different hdris for 2 different objects in blender ?
@BlenderForge Жыл бұрын
@@ramalshebl60 Unless there is some node setup that can be configured in that object's material that I am not aware of, I believe you would need to render one of the objects by itself with the setup in this video and use the compositor to add it back to the scene.

@@BlenderForge thanks for the feedback, guess there's no way around this one

@@ramalshebl60 You're welcome. It may not be possible in one pass, but the compositor definitely makes it possible in the final result. Good luck!

I actually have a product plan for that one. So at the moment I'll be hanging onto it. Are you thinking you would want prints or are you more interested in the models and project file?
