this is super complicated.... waves or OBS need to fix this issue
@profundisconfutatis8093 Жыл бұрын
I think it's more or less a community issue. Waves does not make plugins for OBS. OBS makes broadcasting software, and doesn't really have any reason to try to cater to one company that likes to make their plugins a bastardized shell dll that causes compatibility problems with a ton of other software. This is just waves squeezing out pennies at the cost of functionality. Infact I'm only looking at this video because I thought maybe someone went back and came up with a plugin or something, and I was waiting for an installation to download. High key genius though, this not only solves the problem of waves plugins but it's likely wait I'll do going forward.

To people who mentioned virtual audio cables, they aren't very reliable. Physical loopback is stable and reliable. However, to prevent signal loss and distortion, I'd use SPDIF you already have.

hi! awesome video! I looked up if there is a mix control for my scarlett solo and turns out there is none! what else can i use? (using mac btw)

I’m gonna have to try this. Would love to use my post processing plug in chain (mostly waves) in a live stream

Not many people have the mix console with their audio interface. OBS or Waves need to sort out reading the Waveshell

This seems pretty weird to me. Maybe this is a PC thing if they still can use only one soundcard at the same time? With Mac you need iShowU Audio Capture tool to be involved in the process because Macs don't record desktop audio anywhere without 3rd party app like PC's. iShowU is like a virtual sound card which can be used as an audio input device in OBS. Just create a multi output device in audio midi settings, put iShowU audio capture and your main sound card both there so you can monitor stuff too while you're streaming. You don't need this hassle to get processed mic in DAW to get thru to OBS. OBS will listen whatever you hear thru your main outputs/headphones when you have iShowU + your sound card as a multi output device involved, including any music player or DAW or web browser audio or whatever. I'm broadcasting live to radio and Facebook every week, this works like a charm.

If people are just using USB headsets they do most of this, but need to get spicier with the virtual audio cable program, and all sorts of stuff. It becomes a big headache but can be done but with each thing we have to do it requires even more CPU power so a typical game streamer will need a really beefy machine.

OBS crashes every time I open a waves vst plugin.

Thank you very much. Why didn't I think of that? Have you tried a virtual loop back driver? It might not show up on OBS's list because it is beyond channels 1 and 2 but I'm gonna give that a try

No I haven't, I hope it works out though! 🤞

How can I do this and also get Skype into the daw as a separate track? Why do these apps like voicemeeter not let you use all 8 inputs of the interface?

Could this work with the 2i2?
@Song101uk4 жыл бұрын
I believe so. But only in mono. Mic into input one, routed through the daw and then back out into input two. Then in OBS select the 2nd input. Hope that works! 🤞

Hey dude great video! Just wanted to share with you that you can use more than input 1 and 2 in obs. For some reason the drivers for focusright devices do not allow more than 2 inputs but other interfaces will. It's strange.

Ahh I didn't know that! I've always used focusrite so haven't known any different. Thanks for the info 👍

how did u do that? i can't use my waves plugins/shell. When i choose waves plugins, my obs got crash
@Song101uk4 жыл бұрын
By routing through a DAW. It's all there in the video, but it will depend on your audio interface as to what software you use for the routing. If you're using mixcontrol then just follow my setup in the video
@thebeststooge4 жыл бұрын
@@Song101uk He is right as OBS has an issue with the way Waves works so it crashes every single time. OBS needs to figure out how to get the shell to work within itself instead of crashing.
