Review of the gofanco HDMI to USBC adapter. This adapter seems to go in and out of stock. I've also included a link to a similar adapter that should produce the same results (going by the very latest reviews), but I haven't been able to verify myself. Just remember to keep the Nreal Air firmware up to date.

I'm glad there is some sort of adapter available! Its a niche usecase, but I kinda have always wanted to connect a Raspberry Pi up to some video glasses and hack around with that, and since things like the nreal are transparent and light weight, they'd be perfect for the task.

Oh man... I've bought the XREAL AIR 2 pro and the BEAM few months ago, it was a very bad experience and it make those things become rubbish. This is actually what I need but not that rubbish BEAM. Thanks my hero. Liked and subscribed :)

I prefer the one by goovis. The power in is also usb c removing the need for a micro usb cable / adapter. It also uses an hdmi cable that is not permanently attached to the adapter. In my experience, built in cables attached to adapters are always the 1st part to become faulty, thus requiring replacing over time. Advantage of modular tech is that you can simply replace the part that's broken.

Does the Goovis adapter let sound come thru the glasses if its hooked to a gaming system? I've tried a couple different hdmi to usb-c adapters and while all will let the video thru, none let the sound thru.

No audio with the goovis unless you connect the glasses to nreal adapter then the nreal to the goovis via hdmi. The gofanco was my next attempted resolution but sold out everywhere. Only hdmi to dp available now

@Chris Araujo I can confirm the gofanco only does video. Though playstation and switch both have a workaround, PS you can route the sound thru the controller to a connected headset, and switch can do the same with a Bluetooth headset. It's not perfect but it's a decent temporary fix, that let's you not worry about a dying battery.

Good question. That would depend on how your phone handles audio jack + USBC display out. My guess is yes, but ymmv. I just tested wired headphones with the redmagic adapter shown in a different video (my phone doesn't have an audio jack) and it worked for me.

Is it possible to use a simple HDMI to Lightning adapter, to mirror iPhone/iPad?

You may be able to daisy chain lightning-HDMI to hdmi-usbc. You would still need to power the HDMI-usbc adapter. Though I don't have that equipment to test.

No, because the lightning port on iphone and ipad only receive power they don't provide power so they can't power the glasses. Currently you need the nreal adapter + lightning to hdmi which connects to the nreal adapter

Hi I recently bought a Gofanco adapter so I could play my Switch with my Nreal Air glasses but I couldn't make them catch the audio, can you please tell me how can I make the audio work? Thanks

I couldn't get switch audio to work through gofanco. I think some people have had success with SIIG, but that also seems hit or miss. Bluetooth will still work however.

in pc if you dont connect the usb to the pc you dont get audio im guessing maybe that usb is being used for audio and not all the devices can pass the audio trough usb.

Hold and press the volumen - button to make the audio works on your Glasses. Also you can use a bluetooth headphones connected to your switch to get sound as well

Can you use this to watch 3d movies from a 3d blu ray player?

I'm playing around with the 3D SBS beta firmware now. I can confirm that SBS mode WILL work through the gofanco adapter + pc. But content must be in SBS format. I haven't had success running stereo 3d games from my ps4 though. Will try playing around with some settings and 3d movies in the coming days.

I tried looking for this adapter on Amazon and I found it but it literally says on Amazon that it won't work with AR glasses so.....idk if I should buy it are they lying?

Yea, I've been checking periodically to see if it comes back but haven't seen it in stock again yet. You can try the Elebase adapter listed in the description, but I haven't personally tested it. Audio may not work with the gofanco/elebse, so be sure to use bluetooth headphones!

Yup. That adapter can't be charging and in use at the time. So adapters like this one in the video are great for permanent setups where you can stay plugged in. Also cheaper.

Since compatibility can still be hit or miss between glasses brands and adapters, my guess is that the statement is there so they don't necessarily have to provide support when there are issues with AR glasses. But yes, this absolutely works.

They will track where 'you' are looking. 'What do you look at' most often? 'What do you want to see?' How adept are you at staring? 😄 This is beneficial for industries but poses a threat to consumer privacy. Initially, they recorded audio through phones, then progressed to taking covert pictures from your devices, and subsequently started tracking your location. And now, they aim to track what you see. Essentially, they'll perceive the world through your eyes. Adding AI to this concept leads to a worrisome scenario: they'll render you entirely dependent on them, potentially impairing your ability to make decisions independently. Such ideas instill fear in me.

The nreal adapter is battery powered and cannot be charged and be used as an adapter at the same time. So your usage is capped at about 3 hours before needing to charge again. So not great for permanent setups or longer sessions. And at $60, it's 20-30 more expensive than the adapters listed in the description.
