Hello Morten, a short but interesting video. Though it is old and may not be useful as a miner you could perhaps make some other videos on the miner? Firmware upgrade? Open it up to see what it looks like inside?

You still can heat you room with it. Therefore the "efficency" of the power supply does not even matter ;-) Unless you do not mind the noise, of course...

Did you know that the vast majority of crypto mining has dropped off significantly due to China banning both crypto and also huge electricitiy shortages there. Looks like the antminer is running linux, perhaps you could ssh into it and see if you can also use it for something else? :) (no doubt the linux system is just the management interface, would be great to come up with beneficial reuse as opposed to e-waste.

The controller use to be an arm based minicomputer like a router or a raspberry pi, you can install for example openwrt, but only to use the controller, the rest (asic) is useless.
@johnbeaudette5833 жыл бұрын
@@joshuabest100 I think he is referring to mining profitability dropping off. I went from 150 dollars a month to 50 a month on a 2060 ko. My gaming PC Idle vs mining is only 60 watts difference and cost about 4 dollars a month to mine 24/7 when hooked up to the grid. Still more than profitable. This antminer D3 should use about 3 dollars a day in electricity. Figured @ 10 cents per KWH. It cannot mine more than 3ish dollars per day of any crypto ? It was free and Morten has solar as well to reduce the electricity cost. I would think the D3 would be profitable.
