Just the bit about how to take the stance was very helpful. Re-learned that today and it paid off at the range. We’ll see tomorrow if I can make it translate to the course. If nothing else it simplifies the process and provides some confidence.

Great ball position tips today. I have started using the tip off dropping the back hand off the club to make sure I am the proper distance from the ball. Have used the step back and step back method for many years now with success in getting my feet the proper distance apart.

Love your videos. I am a 63 years old male. I have played golf off and on since I have been 13. I love the game but the game doesn’t love me. I work hard and have taken lessons but after a few seasons I get frustrated and put the cubs away. A few years pass and I pull the cubs out and hit the driving range. I hit a straight shot 7 out of 10 times. My issue is that no matter what iron I hit I only get 125 yards. How can that be?

Hey Todd! Ok question since i was just thinking abt this before i searched ur video. During set up right now, abt 50/50 ill feel comfy or uncomfy at address. Main thing that is causing me to back off is how to keep my shoulders square to the target line ( a lot of us stand with our shoulders open at address without knowing it.) Now should I think of it as an up and down type of motion ( as my right hand lowers i make my left shoulder go ^ up instead of open to the left? Or stay focused more on tucking the right elbow in more closer to my right pocket? I hope this makes sense haha.

Great process, Todd. Maybe I missed it, doesn't the club face the target on a draw?
@USGOLFTVshow

Yes, good call out. The face should be at the target while the club travels slightly to the right of the target to hit the desired draw.

From Redondo Beach, Ca Todd, thanks for doing all these videos. You are my go-to for problem solving. There's a lot of material on various sites about slicers. Do you have a video for guys like me that "over draw" the ball, especially mid and long irons. Try as I might most shots pull 20 yds left. Is it where my hands go....stuck behind....or pulling the club head inside? Would love to hear your take on this problem. Thx

Hey Todd, thanks for the videos... Question for you- I've recently picked up my clubs for the 1st time in 5 years after recovering from an accident that broke and dislocated both of my shoulders. I used to be fairly good with straight shots but now, because of injury, it's like I have never golfed before. After subscribing and watching your tips, I am finding limitations on being able to employ the vertical line swing. Any thoughts or will I be relegated to mini golf?
@USGOLFTVshow
@USGOLFTVshow Жыл бұрын
Mark, sorry to hear this. If there is shoulder mobility limitations, the swing will need to be shorter in length which is ok. Think in terms of direction the lead arm moves vs length. Have you read my book, The Bad Lie? It will provide some good guidance www.badliegolfbook.com/

From snowy Montreal waiting for spring. You say to setup with a slight rightward aim bias for the feet, hips and shoulders. With this setup is the club face square to the target or also with a slight rightward aim bias?

Question, I’ve been playing since I was (4) scratch golfer/ but I still hit my wedges (60* 56* 54*) to the left 20-25% of the time. My 60* goes from 100-115 with ease and up farther with my other wedges, with me swinging about a 2 on a scale from 1-10. I’ve attended several classes and lessons from David Love to Fred Couple to some club Pros in Orlando and Atlanta? Any other suggestions beside the 500 I’ve already been through.😂😂😂😂😂

Good question, the ball starts based on the face and with a wedge there is very little speed which also can increase curve. I would look at the takeaway and make sure the clubface is not closed. Hope that helps.
