I’m 75 years old and a year ago developed severe back problems. From 18 handicap I couldn’t even break 100. I found your YT YS Golf . Now I enjoy playing golf. I’m scoring in low 90s. I shortened my back swing and moved my feet as advised. Thank you.

I appreciate your consistency in providing instructions for senior golfers. I would invite all viewers to go to your excellent playlist as it reinforces your keys to the golf swing and setup. One area I struggle with is your vertical arms as it causes one to loose the feeling of connection. When I connect my right upper arm to my pec. to try to stay connected my swing is flat. Do you have a swing thought or approach to get your arms and hands vertical without loosing connection? As always, thanks for your continued support of recreational golfers. Tom

Hi from ol' Blighty, Todd. Thanks for a great video for us "mature" golfers'. The splayed feet and trail foot pulled back have really helped me with my driver distance/accuracy, along with ensuring my shoulders are in line with my feet. Please keep up the great content and all the best for 2023.

Spot on Todd, the three tips will help tremendously for a 66 year old senior golfer like me. The bonus tip is especially great......when I hover the driver at address it really frees up the swing which helps create more clubhead speed. Keep the senior tips coming!

Nice tips, Todd. Can't wait to try them out. Like everyone else, I am always looking for ways to maximize my performance and my enjoyment of the game. I just turned 77. Every once in a while, I will shock myself with a 275 drive, but I'm usually 240. I love the biomechanics involved.

Great tips. I have incorporated them in my swing. I also do some training which I call crack the whip. I use a rope but you could use a towel or a yoga band. What I try to do is make my rope make a cracking sound out in front of me when using it like a club shaft with a golf swing. I am 83 years old and average 220 yards off the tee with my driver.

Any tips on getting your hands to square the club face at impact?
@johnhesketh14872 жыл бұрын
Thanks Todd, just read your book and watched your videos which are great by the way. I’m in Warrington, UK by the way. Question, to create the draw am I swinging to the right of target along the closed stance line with a square club face? Just a little confused. I can then head to the range and hit a few balls and practise what I have just read. Thanks

Great tips, and I try to incorporate them into my swing. I have another problem that this video doesn't address - hanging back on my trail foot as I finish my swing. Do you have a video that addresses my problem? I often can't seem to get to a finish where my weight is on my lead foot. I'm an 82 year old golfer from Daytona Beach.

Todd - a great, ready to retain set of tips. I've read the Bad Lie book. I have just begun a set of lessons with my main issues being out to in path,no distance with longer clubs and topping my 5 wood. Your tips seem very appropriate. Will try them beginning tomorrow. A question from the book - have you been able to pull out the key checklists zoo they could be printed or put on index cards and laminated? I've got the checklists (9 if I recall) in separate images but don't know how to assemble/print them.

Hey Todd thanks for the video. I have your book. My question is when I close my stance and shoulders I hit the ball to the right. Exactly where my shoulders are aiming. Is there something I’m missing to get the balling going to the target line?

Thanks for the book purchase. Hope you are enjoying it. The shot to the right is related to your clubface. Watch this video for help kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJO6f5JmaMqmppYsi=gipPJ54bqgWXDMKR

Hi Todd, using the vertical line method with the driver can this be used for all clubs in the bag and how do you shallow out the club or is that not necessary using this method? Keep up the good content
@USGOLFTVshow Жыл бұрын
Absolutely, yes it can. The key is to have a full body turn in the backswing. This starts with a full hip turn. The arms take the club back and up and the pivot takes the club around.
@stevenwhiting8941 Жыл бұрын
TY, you should do more content for the mature or experienced golfer. There are a lot of us that need a different way of swinging the club, just not as flexible but still want to play. I will try this method at the range on all my clubs and let you know how I made out.

when you pre-set your hips slightly closed at address, do your shoulders go with them or remain square? ?
@USGOLFTVshow Жыл бұрын
Good question. The hips and shoulders will be slightly closed to the target line with the clubface square to the target line. These are cornerstones of the Vertical Line Swing. Full system covered here www.badliegolfbook.com/

The one thing I try not to do is moving to the right on the backswing. For better striking consistency, I need to move the right hip more back than right. I realize this may not create as much weight on the right foot, but it works better for me. I am almost 70 and I'm working on getting my hands higher in the backswing. Like you said, my backswing has been way too flat and was restricting my length. Thanks.
@sclawndr12 жыл бұрын
It seems that when I drop my right foot back a bit as you suggest, it feels like I’m either too close or too far away from the ball and my swing is just not right. Any suggestions? Thanks for the great videos!

Make sure the clubshaft is pointing at your belt buckle at address. This will make the club feel longer in your hands
