Using a Whopper Plopper For Alligator Gar!

In this video, I am fishing a very flooded river and there are gar sitting on the surface. When they are like that they are very aggressive and will eat any lure that goes right in front of it. I ended up catching 5 nice alligator gar on a musky jerkbait and the whopper plopper.

I remember not too long ago I thought fishing was boring and didn't realize how much knowledge and skill it requires. I started watching Jeremy Wade's River Monsters and found a whole new respect...now I catch myself watching fishing shows daily and looking up videos on KZbin...lol. Pretty cool stuff...keep it up and you'll be catching giant freshwater stingray in Thailand someday. 😊

Coming from a fisherman lol, tht could hve been 2 different things. (1) after the fish got off, he probably snagged it as he brought the lure back by the fish. (2) there could hve been more than one fish there, nd wen the lure came off the first fish. The other fish tht was there ate the lure! Both of these examples are very plausible!! Ive had both of these things happen wen fishing for stripers.. I've been fishing since i was 7, im not just some weekend fisherman lol!!

No the animal rights activist were trying to get them on the list but after Harvey twice as many washed up on shore than was claimed to be in the whole Trinity river. The Trinity and Brazos rivers have tons of these fish and people don't really fish for them much. Most people hook them while fishing for other fish and more probably die from impacting boats.
