one human language to another can be done coz they are based around the same principles and originate from the same Species. They are very complex. Because we are too. According to dog trainers, they don’t actually speak a language to each other. They convey meaning through the type of sound. As in the sounds they make are directly related to their feelings in that moment… hungry, upset, defensive etc. if you were to play around with a young dog that isn’t mature enough to know when they accidentally hurt someone… instead of yelling at it or threatening it, whimper instead. Watch how the dog reacts… it will instantly calm down and come over to see if you are alright…. If that isn’t communicating then I don’t know what is..

It's amazing that animals can understand humans (think of a dog knowing commands, or a cat running when they hear 'vet') but we still can't understand animal language even slightly.
@TriadAgone
@TriadAgone 5 ай бұрын
We understand probably as much as they do. Every pet or animal owner knows what their animal is feeling alot of the time or know when they are asking to go outside or whatever. There's lots of two way communication. The animals also don't really 'understand' most likely, they learn an association that goes with a sound that they can recognize just like we do. We know the difference between purring and hissing, or a playful bark and an angry dog based on body language and intonation

Have documented cases of Gorillas learning to communicate with Human Sign Language. They don't have the physical structure to mimic our sounds in the same way but memories, thoughts, ideas, reasoning is all there if the environment allows for it. Same with humans. i have been saying this about all animals since i was a child. it is beyond ridiculous that people believe animals dont have language, that they cant communicate with each other or talk or chit chat or gossip. take a lion pride or a wolf pack or any other predatory species that hunts in numbers, you think that they only go by instinct when they hunt? all the coordination and strategic rolls played by members of the pack are just born cooperating with everyone else and all the hunting knowledge is just automatically downloaded into their brains? we see from the beginning mom teaches baby the foundation of hunting, then through interactions with siblings and/or other playmates essential hunting skills are learned and tuned also are the social skills, like talking to each other, on how and what works, what doesnt. heres the thing, they use different plans of attack and can change plans in mid hunt all the while staying in sync w/each other. that takes extremely complex communication and understanding, logic, reasoning capabilities beyond humans, cognitive thinking, planning ahead, cooperation again beyond humans. and this is all done without language, without telling each other whats up and everyone saying ya or na to their assigned positions. and their are disagreements, they argue about lots of things. what do people think the sounds comin out of these animals mouths are? and what, all animals kids are just known as "hey you, stop that!" i know it works for some large human families, but not in the animal kingdom.

This is fascinating. I was watching some videos about how zoo gorillas didn't know how to reproduce because they only learned how by growing up with natural gorillas, and that made me realize that animals have culture. So at least some animals having culture and language definitely creates a different understanding. It would be really good to use that knowledge to reflect on how our own artificial environments and social structures are affecting us. Like, it's crazy to me that we care about how factory farming affects animals but we don't think about how factory work affects humans. And frankly, our whole society is pretty factory-ized. Like suburbs seem like a very factory type way of living.

a lot of it is body language, 2 people might say sit in 2 different languages but there bodylanguage may be very similar.

Also amount of vowels and inflection of voice. When I say go outside to my dog, I can say “so farlide” in the same inflection and it has the same effect on my dog. It’s not the words, it’s the body language and tone used to say phrases.

Teaching AI more things like this seems better than teaching them how to hunt, find, and eliminate human targets like we have been. Funny how we kind of led ourselves down this self fulfilling prophecy. Always fear the AI.

You're just teaching them how to enlist Animals as their Personal Army. Congrats, to avoid Terminator we get Terminator AND Planet of the Apes.

@@justinlast2lastharder749 that's assuming we give them the technology to reach the mass population of marine life. Right now, they're helping us communicate.

Dogs can comunicate on a level that is sufficient in their human relationships. Being able to talk to a dog would not make too much difference, good dogs would obey bad dogs would not. They could not discuss with your favourite soap opera or other topics.
