This is a great video Rich. I am not building an "R" type but good information nonetheless. Interestingly, I never really realized the fuse panels were divvied up into sections like you outline. Learn something new every day. Thanks for posting.

When the engine runs , is the startbutton still "active" ? It shouldn't , to protect the starter .

Still active, like millions of others cars. There is a clutch safety switch present.

The panel you use for mounting the starter button and toggle switches, did you make it or did it come with your kit? Thanks
