Using Freedom Launcher Landing Gear to transport Twin Native Titans to the River 23 April 2022

My friend Greg from Stoughton Michigan is the first Native Titan customer to install Freedom Launcher landing gear on his two new 12' Native Titan kayaks. They are outfitted with Torqueedo 1103 motors, pedal drive, as well as other upgrades Greg has in the works. The founder of Wilder Side, David, was given the opportunity to accompany Greg on the maiden voyage of these boats, where we launched onto the Yahara River at Viking Park Landing. The boats worked well. We were launching into 25 mph winds, and found out that the motors needed pedal steer, as the rudder would get overpowered by the straight motor thrust. I was able to maintain control only as long as I kept up the speed...sometimes things didn't work out. Unfortunately, Greg got hung up in the wind; so we called it a day pretty quickly. But for me, it was such a pleasure getting to spend some time with Greg and see his boats in action. I was super pleased with how the landing gear performed on the uneven terrain. You will see that as I took off my shoes and socks, the wheels tended to stick into the river, and I had to move the boat back and forth to get out of the pocket the current had worked them into.

We launched before the boats were really ready... Greg didn't have the seat locked down, and the motors did not have steering, meaning the shallow rudder on the Native Titan could not overcome the strong 25 mph wind... Greg ended up getting hung up near show and jumped out into waist deep water. So I ended up on the other side of the river hung up in some branches and could really only go forward or backwards with limited steering so after 5 minutes we had to call it a day... BUT this was actually the "World's first launch of a Native Titan with Freedom Launcher Landing Gear" so worth it for me to see my creation making my first customer happy. Will these fit on a titan x?

Yes, very easy with our configuration especially for Native Titan. We use the rails just like other landing gear.

does everyone leave their wheels on and down it the water?

Only leave them down when you forget to put 'em up!! Or you need to get in deep enough water to float, like here... it was a shallow natural gravel bar. Seriously, me and my customer Will have forgot to put 'em up a time or two. You begin to ask yourself why the kayak is so hard to move until you look back and see you forgot to put the wheels up!!! That get's fixed in 10 seconds!!! Try doing that in 15 feet of water with a Sidekick :)

Looks nice system of landing but you do not show anything about the structure!!! Is a "home made" or not?? It's something that you found in the market??? And something else ..... my friend kayak with motor (any kind) is not kayak any more (in poor my opinion)......... Have good time every time!!!
