Great video Zzineohp! I did notice one small error, which is that both men AND women have 2 nipples, it's just that men's are smaller and less functional. The opposite is true for testicles!

0:16 grammatical gender doesn't identify nouns as whether they appear more masculine or feminine. it's a morphological category and tells you how to conjugate surrounding words, like adjectives or sometimes adpositions. It may loosely correlate with sex at times, but that's more to do with the fact that many of the languages which have grammatical gender which we are familiar with, derive from earlier languages which did have grammatical gender correlating loosely with sex. it's better known as a subset of grammitical class. many other grammatical classes instead split animate and inanimate, or some combination of animate, sex, and plurality. bantu languages IIRC have a particularly rich class system.

@@zzineohp @zzineohp LOL. I didn't realize this was like an interdimensional eldritch horror trying to interpret human behavior through a cursory understanding of human language until embarassingly late. I think the best way to describe it is that gender is a word that we use to denote something loosely correlates with biological sex in the context of our social interactions. So grammatical gender just means that the grammar of a language loosely correlates its nouns with biological sex, for some reason or another. I think the joke about gender being a pointless category is funny, but not exactly accurate. grammatical adds redundancy into a language, making it easier to understand something said even if misspoken, muffled, whispered, etc. Which may explain why Germain, which is not prodrop conjugates for person. In fact, recently a youtuber did a small "study" wherein german speakers dramatically outperformed english speakers in discerning what was said from distorted audio. Further, the worst german speaker outperformed the best english speaker. I understand the sentiment, as grammatical gender is divisive. IIRC in italian, you just can't refer to people without giving them a gender. They even have a masculine generic. Personally, I prefer grammatical class for my conlang, but those sorts of redundancies definitely do have at least some merit. .
