Using iOS GarageBand for Solo Instrument Practice

I bought iReal Pro based on your review of it and for the most part I've really enjoyed it. The one thing I couldn't stand was the Midi sounds, which are OK for jazz but rather horrible for every other style. So I've started exporting the songs via MIDI and importing them into GarageBand where I can change the instruments to something a bit more realistic sounding and a bit less jazzy.

Dan, I have a violin but don't really play it. Very bad versions of Danny Boy etc. Best done on my own. A long way from other sentient beings. But, as always, you are very inspiring. Thanks for all the stuff you post. Always makes me think I should be trying just that bit harder because there is no real excuse. Ta.
