I've found it very helpful to do whatever manual color grading and other effects I need (Lift/Gamma/Gain, contrast, etc) to get the best image quality, and then save the effect stack. I can then call up that saved effect stack in future projects via the Apply LUT dialog. Different cameras and different LOG formats can provide very different starting points, as can different landscapes and different lighting situations, so I have developed quite a library of effect stacks. It's critical to have a good naming convention and good descriptions.

It is incredible that kdenlive can do many thing for free; is very useful for low budget projects that I preferred pay to a artist that a license for a software to do basics things, and if we thinking that exist for example natron and blender is more easy to do short film vfx or documentary’s

btw, you don't need to go back to the folder selection. Just click the drop down to get all the luts in a selected folder.

I really enjoy your content. Very informative! Do you have any recommendations for a LUT that might make food videos “pop” more. Some that maybe accentuates greens or reds? Thanks for making these great tutorials!

but how can you tone down the effect, adjust the opacity and fill like in photoshop????
@Photolearningism2 жыл бұрын
HI Projjal Rakshit! Thank you for the question! To scale back the grading or toning from a LUT, the best solution I can find regarding #KDEnlive is to layer two copies the desired image or video (one as the original and another as a copy overtop with effects). The 2nd layer would have the desired styling or LUT applied and also a "Transparency" effect to change the opacity and make it partially translucent, effectively controlling the intensity of the LUT. Hope that helps!

@@Photolearningism thanks that is exactly what i did. However its slightly cumbersome specially for an hour long final movie. Hope kdenlive gives the fill opacity slider soon.

It lacks intensity option. Making it unusable mostly.

use the opacity control for that

OMg why to use such a crap software for video editing when there is a Resolve?
@Photolearningism3 жыл бұрын
Hi Grzegorz Wronkowski! Thank you for checking out this video! I will agree that #DaVinciResolve does have some good tools - I did a comparison video once upon a time here, if interested - kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5mQfWePhKqIZ9E - I did encounter some stability issues with Resolve and noted that while it can do many things, a lot of features and technologies are gated (locked behind pay gates). What I love about #Kdenlive is that it is community-developed and constantly evolving with cutting-edge features. Some things are indeed worth paying for, but #Kdenlive has done such a good job of providing powerful tools and aligning the product with FOSS principles that other toolsets seem unnecessary. Just for curiosity, is there a feature specific to Resolve that makes the difference for your video editing process? I'm always curious to better understand the value-offerings of tools and would be interested to know more!

A more important question is why are you watching this and dropping such a crap comment if you aren't even a Kdenlive user?

Resolve isn't for me. Takes forever to load. Which is sad because it crashes all the time.
