This may be my favorite thing Avid has implemented in years.. FINALLY I don't have to commit melodyne every time I make changes

i’ve always just gotten the top version of melodyne so, studio, and i’ve ONLY used it for melodic vocal tuning! (yeah, i know…) anyway, your video was the key to unlocking the understanding for this. thanks so much dude!

Finally ARA2 ! But, we should be able to get the floating window back because the strip at the bottom is clumsy, especially as they have not integrated the zoom tool and navigation feature (IE click anywhere into melodyne to start playback from that point)

Love this. Thanks for showing us. Do you commit your changes on, lets say, a lead vocal or do you just leave it hanging right there in Melodyne/ProTools world when you mix finals? thanks
@RadiumRecordsHollywood2 жыл бұрын
Great question! I typically duplicate the track to keep all tuning in place in case I need to go back... Hide and make that track inactive, then commit the melodyne on the other before mix.

Let's say I have deleted just one vocal part in the melodyne window, this deleted part will become mute in the project, but now I want to record a new part and add only this new part to the melodyne window, along with the rest of the track that had already been detected. Isn't this possible using ARA? I can only do this in the old system with the "transfer" button.

What version of Melodyne is included with Protools studio?
@RadiumRecordsHollywood2 жыл бұрын
The basic essential version
@jmclane272 жыл бұрын
it's the essential(base version) but if you think you'll use it often, it would be worth it to upgrade it one or two versions.....holiday sale coming soon I'm sure. totally worth it for frequent editing

ara put protools back on top and effectively gives a better alternative to TCE
@jmclane272 жыл бұрын
I can honestly say, this was like the only real complaint I've had about protools over the last couple years. The melodyne process was very obnoxious and not optimal for a fast and efficient work flow. I have a perpetual license I stopped updating about a year and a half ago. I've been perfectly content....but I had to buy back in just for this year with this update. I'm thinking I won't need to update again for at least 5 years or so. I refuse to subscribe lol. thanks for the mini tutorial on the update!!

Years, if not a decade later! So late, it´s embarrassing..The guys at Avid really do have the reaction time that defies description. On top of that, they are always guaranteed to come up with the most untimely products, while the market has moved on to an entirely different place already. They are obviously clueless about the shift in pricing policies, as a reaction to the fundamental change in the music and subsequently, the audio industry. Amazing how they are still offering decade old DSP Cards for a price, that could buy you a High Performance Mac Studio Computer with M1 Ultra chips. What do they actually think? That nobody notices this? The Avid board of directors must be the most clueless in the world. ( Hardcore Pro Tools user here, btw)

@@sickmessiah I'm not arguing with you... But I will say that Pro Tools is one of thee best with audio editing, waveforms, mixing, routing, mastering, offline processing, and a ton more... There are reasons why it is the software in every studio, it's not just "the way it is", they do a lot right and people hate on them for not too many good reasons.
@sickmessiah2 жыл бұрын
@@RadiumRecordsHollywood I’ve owned pro tools for over a decade. Used it on a few projects. It’s a very buggy software dude. Very expensive buggy software that was once a very long time ago ahead of the game. Once they dominated the studio market and sold to avid they haven’t invested much into developing the software anymore. As a “ standard “ they left room in the market to get surpassed in stability, cost effectiveness and efficiency of workflow.
