@@exquofonte Only the earliest Christians practiced the pacifism prescribed in the Bible. Once it became clear that the end was not near, Christians began acting more shrewdly and boldly. Were it not for the Christian warrior, the West would not currently exist, which is why I find it necessary to call out the cowardly positions being advocated by the likes of Cooper.

Thank God I’m finding more people like you. I hope these type of channels start to grow more. I left the EOC just this year and have landed into a perennial understanding of God through various mystical/non-dual experiences and subsequent research and re-examining my worldview. Hi, Great Work you are doing here. I observed progression of your beliefes binge watching. Would like to ask, do you still believe in Gods incarnation and that Jesus raised from the dead? Do you take it as symbolic, spiritual truth or as physical reality? I start my Christian and religious journey and love your unorthodox takes.
@Catholic-Perennialist6 ай бұрын
@@michadubinski9402 Margaret Barker does a good job demonstrating that the earliest christology was adoptionism. Jesus is the Son, but from his baptism, not his birth. Likewise, James Tabor does a good job of showing that Paul's conception of the resurrection may not have been as physical as orthodoxy suggests, with Paul's emphasis on the "spiritual body" as opposed to the flesh. In short, I'm open to a much lower christology as I feel our current orthodoxy was embellished over time.

Interesting take. I have had my own problems with the Church and her followers. Not with the Christ of my understanding. Him I can get behind. But many of His most vocal so-called followers gave me myriad reasons to leave the Church. I am interested to hear what else you have to say.
@Catholic-Perennialist5 ай бұрын
@@joeyj6808 It took me a long time to find my place in Christianity. For me it comes down to ignoring the bad theology and finding a cohort that approached religion casually. Those within the Church who take religion too seriously are hyper orthodox and generally have just enough intelligence to commit the catechism to memory. This is what passes for intellect, but the truly intelligent have to form a theology of their own to be comfortable within the institution. For us, that means understanding Christ on out own terms.

Cooper seems to be trapped in the dialectic of that certain entity i mentioned in another comment. In fact, you hint at it in thr beggining of your video. One of the spirits of the age is this dialectic of either or. Ultimatly, Cooper fails to realize Christ also said render unto Ceaser what is his and render to God what is Gods. @@damnmexican90 In my experience, it is the Jungian animus which resides in women that loves to vicariously wield the divine authority of god attached to scripture. They take great joy in sitting upon a throne of purported moral superiority and judging their men by impossible standards. As a husband, marriage is far easier if a man simply allows his wife to act out this role, no matter how absurd it appears. Attempting to wrest this behavior from her, or worse, to employ these very tactics against her, leave the woman deeply offended and unfulfilled. When Cooper uses the Bible as a tool to call down God's authority against his fellow men, he is playing the part of the female. The dichotomy is between the masculine and feminine and Cooper has chosen his team.
