is an exciting way to add texture and interest to our background...and not being in control of what happens when we dissolve the paper makes it even more fun!

I love the contrast of dark against light but maybe a mixture of both dark and light could work very well! Water soluble paper looks fascinating so thanks for showing us how you use it ♥

it's that dark and light thing again isn't it! ooo yes it's lovely to play with, it stiffens the fabric and stitch and is always a surprise!

Hi, I love the use of water soluble paper, I've only used water soluble fabric. I'd like to see you use a brush etc to remove some more before perhaps using a mix of dark and neutral colours. What a wonderfully textured piece this will be 🙂

Hi Victoria, yes I think removing some of the paper would be good, it;s a lways a gamble how much to dissolve off, I appreciate your choice of a mix of shades too! xx

I cannot wait for your weekly posts Emma. I also, can't wait to see where you take this piece. I did something similar, but obviously in different colours etc, and loved the experience. I hope you have a great week. x

I love this piece. The mixture of light and dark yarns are going to look very dramatic. I've never used soluble paper but I shall have a go using it now I've seen the effect it produces.

thanks Christine, it's a lovely way to create surfaces and texture when lixed with scraps of fabric and threads! You don't even have to use a backing, just the fabrics and threads as long as there is cross over stitching to hold it together. Have fun!

Can you tell me what kind of soluble paper you used. I looked online but it was rather confusing to say the least.

Hi Irene, yes I see what you mean! Just had a look online. I bought mine a while ago, but I think it would have been Aquatics water soluble paper sheet. It needs to be paper, not film or fabric. Hope that helps!
