You could also play VF. Sarah Bryant has been hitting people with same knee for 29 years.

You don’t always want to hold back in every situation, some attacks are better to be neutral guarded to punish attack properly. (Heihachi ff2, Paul demo man and death fist, noctis db1+2). Neutral guarding gives less pushback to moves which can give you an easier time to punish. But when in doubt hold back to block.

As a caveat for more experienced players: situationally neutral guard is advantageous due to the difference in the distance your character is moved after blocking a specific move. An easy example is Paul's deathfist. The only way; if I recall correctly, to punish death fist in neutral as Kazuya is via neutral blocking the DF so you're still in range to punish.

Neutral guard break also works with moves on hit that lift one feet of the opponent off ground resulting in a float combo. Try kazumi RSS 3 in Neutral and any followup will hit and launch. This is a trap to get a full launcher with RSS3. Cause intermediate players stop blocking after a RSS3 on hit cause they will asume the followup 1 will hit them anyway. Instead of 1 you can launch even with df1 or any other move if they neutral guard.

That's actually the reason Asuka is so strong in lower ranks. Her safe can-can is ridiculous to begin with, but really kills people who neutral guard since the first hit low guarantees neutral guard break for a launcher. And even if you hold back you can't duck the second hit on reaction because the low jails. You have to duck before she does it so it's all hard reads. Very dumb.

Every character can perform a double over stun by doing u/f, n, delay 3. If the kick hits the opponent in the gut they'll double over.
@djmj10002 жыл бұрын
I dont know why people dont use it in tekken 7 from backturn or to realign since it tracks. In tekken 3 this was used very often to realign cause movement was stronger.

To the neutral block... A good point is for down blocking, just down is just like neutral blocking and one need d/b for the "better" down blocking.

It seems like you can do a pickup move for a combo if they hold down on that Alisa move

Your channel has suddenly popped up in my recommendations. I like it when I get to listen to Aussies, being an Aussie in Germany. Funny thing, your channel name in German and corrected for proper german grammar, massiver Zug, means massive train or massive pull, depending on context.

Not a Nina main so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but there are times when breaking the nosebleed stun isn't always best vs. Nina. She has combo routes for those that break the stun and for those that don't so it kind of becomes a 50/50
@CapnLexCrunch2 жыл бұрын
You still always want to cancel the nosebleed. She has combo routes from Evil Mist for if they react to the nosebleed or not, but it's all a guess, and failure to react is way more punishing. You can also duck it, so you can even cancel nosebleed with a late duck reaction input.
@TheicMoggy2 жыл бұрын
Nina main here. She can get a combo still if opp presses down if she does ws+1 1+2 or df+3 f+4 This is so because both of these move screw on opp who holds down and also a natural string if opp doesn't hold down and remain standing.

when the opponent springs towards me leading with head and arms, i block it and it staggers so i hold back. i still get floated with a jab after i get staggered. I tried ducking but it didn't work either. I've seen pros cancel the stagger but i can't figure it out. How do you do it?
@maga_balykin2 жыл бұрын
This is a front roll cross chop wake-up option. Only few characters can float u after u block this, like Paul, Yoshi, Gigas and smn else. The float is guaranteed if u block, so just try to sidestep, interrupt the initial roll with df1 fo example, or in the worst case just let it hit u. Other characters just get little + frames.

You should have mentioned the benefit of neutral guard, being that it often reduces pushback, and is sometimes the only way to punish certain moves.

I wish they still retained the original Double Overstun mechanic which is only escapable by holding forward. An example would be original Jin from Tekken 3, where the double overstun was on his 2nd hit of Laser string. But I guess they changed it for balance and simplification reasons (thanks Mishimaster...)
@Guitar-Dog2 жыл бұрын
Is that not still in it? Sure in an Aris vid he does one with paul Edit: a video talking about double over stun, that comment was a bit vague. It was the 2nd hit of a standing double mid kick

6:20 I knew laser scraper was gonna be in this video just from Feng in the thumbnail. If you look up Cassan laser scraper he ha sa 30 minute video braking down the move that also covered this. Additionally, since Devil Jin is at +15, everyone says you'll get clipped by a "free" can can, but he can fully launch you with an electric with 1 frame of leeway like a discount Kazuya, or wind godfist. The second hit is guaranteed so long has the Devil jin doesn't delay it too long, regardless of if the first hit was a counter hit.

Can someone please explain? Sometimes if Miguel or certain other characters do a running tackle from far ahead, and I block it they are at an advantage for like +8. I keep holding back to block but some of their moves keep connecting?! I don’t know what to do maybe holding down? Or maybe it’s just really guaranteed, I hope someone knows what I mean.
@Furionic6962 жыл бұрын
If you are talking about things apring up tackle such as yoshi and paul has where they dive towards you on block a jab float is garaunteed for them, you have to sidestep thebdive rather than blocking, if this doesnt cover what you are specifically talking about its likely the same mechanic at play
