Using the Boss ES-8 and Morningstar ML5

@@BTPA_USA That's what I was thinking of using it for. The ES8 could control the loops of the ML5 with a long MIDI cable so you could keep the effects loop pedals close to the amp on a separate smaller pedal board.

@@trixlee5102 Yep! Don't get too long with that MIDI cable, though! If you feel it is too long and introducing latency, convert to MIDI over CAT

Awesome video!! I know that with the Boss ES-8 and using the 4 cable method, you can put pedals in the amp effect loop or in front of the amp. Could you do that with the pedal that are hooked to the ML-5 as well??

Hi Jean, The ML5 does not allow for changing the order of the loops. It does not have any insert loops for an effects loop, either.

I'm using a MC8 to better navigate the ES8 and also cover the CC limitations. It allows you to jump to distant banks and also to audition different PCs in midi pedals without changing ES8b banks.

@@romuloraeder I am using both in the same rig. The ES8 is great, really flexible if you like playing around with pedal order and parallel structures. I have a few midi pedals and some rack gear and so I added the MC8 to give me more control over CC messages and Bank Jumps. The MC8 with a ML5 would probably get most of it done if you don't want to do parallel and pedal order.

Is Strymon Conduit the same thing?

No. The conduit is used for MIDI purposes
