excellent explanation. I love how you made the terminology simple on this video and did not use complicated terminology. Using terminology that a 7 yr old can understand makes golf learning so much easier. We don't need to be impressed with medical terminology.

So basically turn turn with relaxed arms and wrist’s and let the ball get in the way and hopefully hit it square?

The pro has seriously transformed my swing, I used to hit 4 to 6 buckets a week at the driving range and didn't see much improvement, now I just sit at home and swing the pro at the little target it comes with for about 30 minutes a day, and then go to the range once a week to work on things like basic setup

Thanks, Tyler...what has happened to your swing/game/score as a result of this new routine? I love it, just curious to learn more.

@@TPH0316 I've had it for close to a year now and I was originally an 8.3. now I'm a 2.8 handicap, I truly think if people stick with it and swing the pro more than they hit golf balls, it's hard to fall back into your old habits, I know Dan has talked about practicing with the pro and then hitting golf balls and going back and forth, I personally have found better performance from swinging, mostly the pro only, And then getting a proper warm up before the rounds with hitting golf balls. I think one of the biggest things that the pro has done for me is that it has retrained me to make sure that I am looking at the back of the golf ball as I hit it ( Jack Nicklaus used to talk about that all the time). Which has paid dividends for my accuracy on the golf course. Lastly, I think the other most important thing about the pro is the thing that Dan hammers on a ton, The transfer of momentum, in my mind it is not widely taught that the dynamic sequence only goal is to transfer energy from the ground into the club itself, i.e. tons of golfers are unaware of that. They should be actively deaccelerating their hands, shoulders and arms, chest, and so on to allow the energy to flow into the golf ball

@@tylerpohler3271 Thanks, Tyler. I am a believer as well and love what Dan is teaching. My swing is getting better, but my handicap hasn't shown as much improvement as yours. Way to go.

@@TPH0316 Thx for the words of encouragement, an extremely good teacher named Mike Malaska told me years ago "given enough golf balls anyone can find the middle of the club face, however finding it on the first golf ball with a 5 minute break every time is where the challenge lies" , which is a fairly trivial statement but after you make that your main focus for several months, I think you will see lots of improvement, I still often swing to pro at the target then wait 5 minutes then repeat, and whatever motions I did with the pro were transcribed as much as possible into my actual golf pre shot routine

I’ve watched a lot of pga tour guys swing in slomo lately. Namely Colin Morikawa. If you look at him head on in the downswing...it looks like he slides 6-8” combined with his turn. Same with DJ, JT, etc. is it an illusion that I’m seeing?

Keep a closer eye on the centerline of his upper body - not very much movement when the arms and club begin to unfold in the forward swing. Lateral before that is no issue!

Dan - just bought the pro and love it!!! It’s helped me so much with my early extension which is something I’ve been working on for years!! Can you tell me what the hands should do during impact during the ride phase? Sometimes I feel like the club face is closed and I don’t know how to stop it from closing without causing tension in my swing. Thank you!
@danmartingolf2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tim! The hands remain passive to the extension of the radius of the swing - no manipulation. If you feel like you need to hold the face, then I'd investigate your grip - could be too draw biased (too strong).

But how do you direct the clubhead to the back of the ball using this technique?
@danmartingolf2 жыл бұрын
You always predict the path of the club - you never use your muscles to direct.

That device there makes it impossible to make the ball your target. I like it. It's another version of a tennis ball on a string.

So, most of us aren't aware we are sliding, because we are able to hit the ball? And, the PRO helps us become aware of the proper movement and not sliding, because it won't swing if there is a slide? I know I don't slide with the PRO, but do with a club. The idea is to become aware of swinging and not sliding with the PRO and replicating the movement with the club?
@danmartingolf2 жыл бұрын
Bingo - the PRO is a model of a swing - it should help you become aware of movement issues you have in your golf swing and allow you to explore new options that are in line with the physics of the swing!

THE feet and legs UNWIND the HIPS, the hips never control the feet and legs! common in any movement!
