Got a dissolve? No worries - skip to this TC here for my opinion: 7:22

90% of the time you can get away with adding a dissolve (in the Edit Page) and grade across it. Also, if you want to be able to trim or join where your cuts are, you can delete all the clips in your media bin (so the whole edit goes offline) then add the single master clip back into the Media Pool so that you get handles (or export an EDL from the Scene Detect and PreComform with EDL).

@@jamied6166 Or use the scene cut detect in the timeline, way better than the old way of doing it.

Oh yes I've seen this trick! Good shout, maybe I should do a follow up video 😋

How do you scene detect a file straight from the timeline? 😊
@youvegotgold3 жыл бұрын
@@lukerosspost put the file on the timeline then go to Timeline-Detect Scene Cuts. Faster and it works across dissolves.

baselight vs davinci resolve how is the best for pro level work ples tell me sir
@lukerosspost3 жыл бұрын
Hey Rudra! Baselight and Resolve both perform very well for long-form feature film/documentary and short-form commercial workflows. I personally prefer working on Baselight for long-form content and Resolve for short-form content, but that's because I specialized as an assistant for long-form content in Baselight :-)

I ran scene cut detection and it made a million little cuts that I don't want. I don't want to manually delete points. How do I RESET the Scene Cut Detection for a video file??
@lukerosspost7 ай бұрын
Hey! Adjusting the pink line upwards will reduce the amount of cuts in the file, so that's a great first step. If you've already clicked "Add Cuts to Media Pool" you can use Ctrl+Z to undo this action. There's no way to "reset" all of the marks, you can only manually delete points 👍🏼

@@lukerosspost I did Scene Detect on a file that had transitions and it ended up making a million cuts, manually erasing them would take over an hour, so that sucks that there is no Reset function or anything, using After Effects
@lukerosspost7 ай бұрын
@@PTFWWDB The shortcut keys are "N" (next) "P" (previous) and if you use them with the "-" key (delete) you can trim tens of cuts in a few seconds. Transitions should be generally be supplied as separate files though, you may need to go back to editorial and ask them to supply you the footage with handles!

You have some great videos mate. Definitely need to get yourself a decent mic - audio is 70% film after all haha - but honestly, it'd make a huge difference for your videos.

Thanks mate! Yes I know - as I make this content for free though I can't really justify the cost when my iPhone microphone works 😅
