@nanibush18 жыл бұрын
+Rosaleen Chao Depending on where you are....northern climate you can put some roots in a pot outside & bring the pot inside for the winter. In a warmer climate you can put some roots directly into the ground (4 or 5 finger size pieces per square foot) and water them! They like the sun but seem to do well in partial shade. I am in Costa Rica so right now I have beautiful plants which will die off in December. That is the best time to harvest, but I use turmeric a lot so I just dig under the plants for some roots.Good Luck! If I can be of more help. nanibush14@gmail.com

Yes and Yoga books suggest a dash of rock salt and ghee to help absorb. Black pepper a must.
@DonyaLane2 жыл бұрын
@@trinitytwo14992 , the full recipe does call for a healthy fat for absorption. I never used ghee, but I use either a dash of organic sesame oil or coconut oil. The true Ayurvedic recipe also calls for a cooling spice for balancing the liver. Turmeric is very drying to the liver, and by itself, it can harm it. It requires that you blend it with a cooling spice like coriander. My whole concoction includes: (all organic) Warm whole milk, turmeric, coriander, fresh cracked black pepper, a dash of sesame oil, maple syrup or honey and Celtic salt (to taste). Just don't get any on your clothes!

Great video. Last week I tweeked my neck and could not even turn my head it was that painful. Finally after about 4 days of pain, I had intuitive nudge to take a bath with turmeric. I poured some powder into the bath, and also put it directly on my neck where the pain was coming from. I also put some on my feet since the feet connect to all the various meridian points I believe. Anyway, after the bath, my neck was totally better. I was able to give it a little crack and release the tension. I was amazed. Highly recommend this method to anyone with muscle tension/pain.

@informationwarfare9 жыл бұрын
+Greg Duda Boiling would remove a lot of the color compounds which isn't good, plus it would be all soggy. I say do it raw. Did you end up drying any? How did you do it?
@gregduda48698 жыл бұрын
+informationwarfare Well, we decided to process it raw and we believe it was a good decision. We just washed it, sliced it and dried it under the sun. Then we powdered it and strained. Our turmeric came our with a better taste than the commercially available. My only advice in this process is to slice it rather thin and uniform - we did it by hand and bigger pieces needed much more time to dry out.

Please don't think I am a troll ...but I have to disagree. Dr Gregor uses STUDY's not RESEARCH (big difference)...he then puts his VEGAN spin to it....it is really nothing more than his opinion....and I should probably note, that opinion swayed by a big fat paycheck from The Jesse & Julie Rasch Foundation .... which is fine, if you are a vegan, because if you are not a vegan, you are the source of the worlds health problems..(according to them) Dr Gregor is a highly educated and intelligent man who has let his myopic vegan view influence his common sense. Sorry, maybe you dont even care, But we need facts not convoluted opinions based on emotional conclusions as Dr, Gregor displayed time and time again. only my take on it but meat is not our enemy, if it were we would not have survived. Chemicals are the culprit. I researched much when I had angina...I dont have it now...imagine that.

Many ask whether to boil/cook turmeric. Im not saying eat only raw foods, but its obvious that cooking kills nutrients. I think sprinkling it on food is best. NOTE: When sprinkling *anything* from a salt/pepper-shaker, the steam from hot food penetrates into the holes. This causes mould!

Can Nyone vouch for a powder or capsule that has high quality? I have heard several negative things said about turmeric packed in regular bags vs. packed in vacuum sealed foil covered bags. Also, about boiling it...some say bad, others say it has to be done to make homemade power. I'm confused as to whether boiling reduces the benefits. Thanks, 😊

Anyone know which Preparation method is the best to get the most from the fresh root without waste? (I ordered fresh roots from Amazon and washed in Vinegar-BakingSoda water mixture, in case its not organic) I know of pepper already for absorption. Would it be to grate and soak? cos I feel putting it in a Juicer along with my leafy grains is not best use? It just gets squeezed and thrashed. So maybe I should grate and infuse in water seperately? Or blend, infuse, sieve and store in ice cube tray, then use a block or 2 at a time in my Green Juice. - ah, that sounds better. Thanks all, hehehe, more tips welcome..
