SO happy that the Commandant's Own STILL uses G bugles, not bowing to the Hopkins-led assault on TRUE drum and bugle corps /s/ USMC (Retired)

A bugle has no valves and is shaped like a trumpet. When the Marine Drum and Bugle Corps was founded, they had a set of Bb horns. A drum and bugle corps is the front line of drummers in a military band who carry a bugle on their side. Part of Cavalier lore is helping to kill drum corps...in 1971. Other corps had t-shirts made declaring drum corps dead. I marched during the transition to 3 valves and it wasn't drum corps anymore. Oh, the horror!
