Props to you my route 23 is the opposite, a cake route. I'm glad we're back to normal for a bit . I had 82 hours in one week during one of the last weeks of political season. I'm still recovering 😅 dps has been light this week with heavier parcels. No coverages either. We've been working our sdo days since election season . Get that money!!

One thing I learned at the post office was don't tell anybody nothing about your personal info. Last year when I bought back my military I got a pay bump. When I was talking to another Vet he told me he didn't get a pay bump. He started going off. He was saying this is F'ing BS, and he was getting very loud. I was like Jesus. After it calmed down another Vet came up to me and said, I got a pay bump as well, I said you did He said, my advice, don't tell nobody your personal business/info. This guy is known for raising HELL for stuff like this. He's going write/talk to everybody on why he didn't get a pay bump and you did. He'll most likely write to congress on this. He said this guy is known for being a drama queen times a million. I asked him what do I do. The other Vet said make up a story that they messed up for pay and they just caught it happens all the time here. It worked. Nick this guy was a piece of work. Dude was going off. He did 12 years in the military and that had something to do with it, I didn't know that. From what I was told, anything more than 4 years served it's advised not to buy back your military time, why that is, I have no idea.

Before I approached this dude last year he said just to let you know I'm writing to congress on this and I'm talking to union and the regional manager and I'm calling HR about this. I said dude relax, Jesus Christ. I told him they screwed my pay up etc...he was a brand new mail handler and wasn't making shit for money yet. He wanted more money. I told him you have to put your time in here, you know that being prior service. I also said you being in for 12 years were probably advised not to buy back your service because it wouldn't benefit you as much as someone who did 4 years. I don't know why that is, but that's what I was told.

If you just did 40 hours a week, how much would your check be? Just curious. Your extremely blessed to have all this OT your getting. Last year before my military stuff kicked in I was making 1600-1700 after taxes with zero OT. With Sunday premium and night time differential pay and level 6 pay on some days, my check was different all the time. I was making like 25 an hour I believe. Once my military stuff kicked in got bumped up to 29 and some change per hour. If I wasn't so anti-OT I could have made a killing. People asked me all the time why won't you do OT. I said because I can pay all my bills with one pay check and have some left over for savings. I said my bills are cheap. My house payment, car payment, electric bill etc...I got military discount. The Vets in my plant didn't have to work hard that's the way it was setup. I was saving like 1200 a month because I'm a Vet. That was huge for me. I live in a military city and my plant has a shit ton of Vets there. It's different in other plant's I know this. I know people in different cities and they tell me the supervisors, MDO don't give a rats ass that they served. They asked me is it different in your plant. I said yes, if you served they treat you differently than the civilians. All my supervisors, MDO's etc...had 100 respect for the Vets and they talked to us differently. I said with you guys the supervisors would tell you to do something. With the Vets they asked us, that was the difference. It didn't matter if they had higher seniority the Vets were always the priority over everyone else. A lot of the workers didn't like it and my supervisors said I don't care if you don't like it. These guys put their life on the line for you and me when they joined and we have jobs here because of the Vets, so instead of complaining about it, give them the respect they deserve. Me and my buddy would just stand there with our eyes wide open like damn.

Probably around $2300 a month but I'm not sure honestly

That is not enough to live on. I’m happy you’re getting that OT. I did 6 hours of OT one time and my take home after taxes was like 2400 and some change. I didn’t understand why the supervisors wanted me to stay OT all the time. I was saving them money lol.

Question for you Nick, can a PTF refuse to become a regular carrier? I really don't want to become one. My current situation is way more beneficial to stay a PTF and I want to go the supervisor route for a career anyways
@MailmanNick2 ай бұрын
I think you can but take that regular spot

@MailmanNick in my office with the local contract agreement being a regular is a bad thing. I like doing my 6 days a week and supervisor on Sundays. Id lose a lot of hours going regular

Do you plan on making the changes in your edit book? Make the rt go the way you want it?

The route actually goes pretty smoothly honestly except the south building should be before my business relay

Its sad some of the carrier gotta rely on OT We deserved better pay! I chose to have an extra room to rent it out so that's my extra OT money without tax lol.
