The tender of locomotive 1714 seems to have 4 powered axles on the tender. The photo shows up at 5:06.

Hi briansmith8385. You're right. That particular tender had a booster engine installed in each truck. The booster powered one axle while the side rods transmitted power to the other. Good observation!! Thanks for watching!!!

interesting side note bout the N&W Y2 is that you can see a color shot of N&W Y2 #1715 at work at the end of their revenue career in the N&W company produced video Operation Fast Freight from 1950. I also got a model of the N&W Y3a #2050.
