What I’ve never understood about India in the Cold War and indeed today, is that India is commonly referred to as “the largest democracy in the world” yet past and current India governments are friendly with USSR/Russia. Like dude, you’re a democracy, you’re supposed to be on our side!

Traditionally in russia you dont salute unless you are wearing some sort of headgear. You can see all those not saluting are not wearing a fedora/other headgear
