Lol, in my experience, german BB line gets awesome after T6. Gneisenau was kind of teaser for what was to come, could single-handedly negate whole push on one flank. VIII tiers are absolute monsters, as long as you don't get focus fired or raped by some gunboat.

Komrade, Y U forget? U should add 15x 630mm anti bunker kannons, and three ammo types. AP, HE, and SFAPI (short-fuse armour piercing incendiary). Glorious initial shell velocity 1,337m/s, with appropriate Sovyet anger our fuse timer is 0.005s, the Union guarantees citadels on all kapitalist kruisers and kommunist traitor-ships with added fires, we one shots DDs every time, and when it doesn't work on a battle ship, switch to HE and you'll go right through the dekk, or AP and overmatch and armour you choose. Maximum dispersion at 36.3km is 189m, with a flight time of 24.7s for SFAPI, 23.7s for HE, and 19.7s for AP, due to ballistik effects and the atmospherik drag. Different shell lengths have different aerodynamic ko-effecients of drag. Sovyet rokket programme is glorious, and teaches us this. U forget our state of the art sekondary system of 30mm and 57mm avtokannons, firing HE at 15 shells per 3 seconds for 15s, before cooling off for 20s. We have installed 48 of the 30mm dual-purpose avtokannons along the bow and broadsides, and 32 of the 57mm avtokannons, arranged in suitable sledge-hammer formation at the rear. Peak effeciency angle is between 30 degrees to the rear to 45 degrees to the front. At the rear, our kapitalist enemy ship is faced with 3 tiers of 57mm dual-purpose avtokannons, in rows of 5. Maximum range of both is 13.7km against ships, and 8.7km against air. Anybody not already burning will probably already be dead from the amount of damage that kame in, and won't be able to kontrol their ship anymore. We also have a kompliment of 130mm AA guns with 9.7km range that fire shared-sabot radio-fuse HE shellls in a konfiguration of 6 smaller warheads arranged in a hexagon, to ensure maximum akkuracy, by kovering whole sky with flak, you guarantee hits. Glorious kommunism teaches us this. Kapitalists seek efficiency, so they fire too few shells and wait to see what happens. We kommunists fire lots of shells, and don't wait to see what will happen. If it doesn't explode, it's okay. We already fired a lot more. Kommunist weapons factory on board ship ensures we always have as much ammo as we need. Our rudder is electro-hydraulic, and has hyper-golic boosters to help it turn faster, resulting in 3.7s rudder shift. It is not advised to fall into the water after we turn the ship. The water will be very hot, and slightly poisonous. This will dissipate over time, so does not harm the environment, but it will kill any who attempt to abandon their komrades by jumping off the ship. Our rudder shift module makes the rudder bigger, so the rudder shift actually goes down to 5.3s to make our turning radius 20% smaller. This will help us catch kapitalist DD-poles made of fear of the west. It will hurt them due to friendly fire. Sovyet Union is friend of whole world, and will defend the human race from these filthy kapitalist pigs! Long live the most Glorious Union!

You guys do realize its WIP. Very minimal balancing has been done at this point. The just modeled the ship and gave them stats based on whatever their source material is, as well as what they have as theme/gimmick of this ship. They want this line to be able to push in, so they gave it good armor and decent guns with good short range sigma. I highly doubt devs play this game for hours and hours each day (would love to work for game company that pays you to do this), so they need it in players hands to see if its overturned and start balancing it properly. This entire line at higher tiers seems to be a bit too much, i would agree, but lets see how they balance them in coming months before overreacting.

*I would change her in one way. Turret number 2, in WG's theoretical refitting, they raised the turret to a superfiring position. Historically, her 2nd turret sits at the same deck level as her first turret. I would revert this change that WG did. You can look up this ship's original design by looking up "Russian Black Sea Battleship 1917", its the 1st google image result.*

There's just something viscerally wrong seeing massive 406mm caliber triple turrets turning so fast. I mean I get why WG did it, I'm sure they've found some blueprints that say those turrets can traverse that fast somewhere, same as they have plans for the infamous russian railguns ... but what they've chosen to willfully ignore is that those specs where by far and large just meant to impress good ole' Stalin than ever make it into service for a fleet Russia couldn't afford to build or was even capable of building in the first place. There's a reason (one of many, but that would digress) why the US shells travel at a such seemingly anemic shell velocity compared to russian shells. It's because barrel life is an actual concern. Same reason why the already high velicoty shells of the german cruisers are so light compared to other shells of the same caliber, because if you want faster shell velocity but not ruin your barrels, you're going to sacrifice shell weight to drive said shell at a wanted velocity out of the barrel without having to massively increase the driving charge and as such pressure in the barrel upon firing. Neither of those two examples have anything to do with lacking technology to simply fire shells at a higher velocity. It's the difference between having actually servicable barrel lifespans under realistic situations and having to please Stalin with his dreams of grand fleet ambitions. And I really wished WG would at the least scale down such obvious blueprint-only stats where they aren't strictly necessary for a ship's performance.

Hear me out: 1) Its primary weakness is torpedoes, so being permaspotted makes it a torp magnet, and 2) Its role should be tanking damage for its team due to its armor scheme, so permaspot would place it firmly in its role. I would propose a 3-kilometer nerf to its concealment. Hell, all Russian BBs should get this concealment nerf. The fact that poor concealment was a Russian tree staple UNTIL the BBs is stupid and contradictory.

Due to the mechanics of it's 'extremely accurate at short range', it can deal a big chunk of dmg to a DD when it gets spotted, out to 12-ish km. Which means: if the DD is within torpedo range, the Russian BB's are the most accurate of all BB's.

Came up against this in my Sharnhorst and honestly thought it was a tier 8 or 9. My shells struggled to pen it's broadside from 7km. I was so surprised to find it was tier 7.

Scharnhorst guns are tiny though, they struggle with any main belt at that range. Better to aim for upper belt while you chase them down to a more FUN (for you) range.

The Soviet Navy wasn't well funded and had very very limited resources since the allies had to ship lend lease materials just to keep their Army and Air Forces financially viable. Their navy was relegated to what it was good for and that was coastal defense. Just look up the Russo Japanese war and most of the time the Soviets got their asses handed to them due to inexperience and ineptitude to the score of even being lost in open waters panicking and believing they were where they weren't. Drachinifel has a couple of fantastic videos on how incompetent the Soviet navy was in conventional warfare.

Ship gets its name from city of Sinop in Turkey. Thats definitely correct but there is even more to it. Actually the ship gets its name from the russian naval victory which took place at Sinop Port in 1853. It was a real decisive ambush for the Russians and there is a very important technological reason for it. They did potato the shit out of our Ottoman Navy using explosive shells in their Paixhan guns which were the pinnacle of gunnery technology at that time, whereas Ottomans were only using smoothbore cannons with regular cannonballs. This was the first time that they were used in a major battle by a nation. And it paid off. It REALLY paid off. Russians 37 killed, 229 wounded 3 ships damaged Ottomans 2,960 dead 150 taken prisoner 1 frigate sunk, 1 steamer sunk, 6 frigates grounded, 3 corvettes grounded, ~2 shore batteries destroyed Our history teachers and books says jack shit about this loss except a few words (humiliation and national disgrace is too stronk in this one i guess) but this battle actually marks the end of Age of Sail and other nations got into a race for rearming/up-gunning their navies with these "marvelous" new type of guns. So the Giulio Cesare is too OP for T5 so it has to be shifted up to T6 for which, its 320mm guns are more outclassed and for which it will need armor scheme upgrades to keep it from being a paper sided ship but the Sinop will be super tanky so that nothing, effectively, can touch it, not even Musashi's big guns at T9 (and Yamato's of course, or Kreml's and Conqueror's for that matter)?

One question grew up after watching that. Is the WG dev dept. either that biased or that inexperienced in its base work? Implement that figures into a design to be released for ST is one of the reason for that ship.

Funny thing about this battlebote, Flamu: if it was armed and armored in the way it was historically, it would only have 305mm guns.. but its thinnest hull armor would be 57mm thick (it had 38mm on top of its turrets, though that's hard enough to hit deliberately that it's barely worth talking about) with its conning tower clad in 229mm. wouldn't *that* be fun armor to try to punch through.

Systematically uptiered, a Sinop survives 4 minutes in a t9 game. You get focused with HE and => port. Fun and engaging.

Haven't seen one yet that isn't ridiculously powerful (Flambass has a 197k game in the TIER 5 FFS). What a surprise. Here's a question for WG: if they can do 2-tiered dispersion, why did they not do EXACTLY this for the Germans? Also makes the Colobado look even more awful, and that has always been one of the most underwhelming BBs in the game tier for tier IMO. I'd hate to be someone grinding through it these days. Everything you've said about this is so OBVIOUSLY true that it's hard to believe WG doesn't know it too, yet they put this thing in for 'testing'. Laughable.

The Ruskies are actually very vulnerable if you flank them (among other engangments) as they have good rudder shift but that isn't saving them from being blindsided by torps unlike maybe Colorado, ive heard the turrets are pathetically fragile, HE exists in the first place, the sniper bbs are laughing at ranges greater than 15km as plunging fire ignores that pathetic 70mm setup (probably.....works on the germans anyways), and of course the Russian bias moniker gets them focused down by people with brains (one less bb is still after all one less bb)…..not sure why I put this comment here but here ya go (also scharn and gneiss have torps which are great for these close encounters.....trust me)

Honestly... this seems pretty much like a Tier 8 Tier 7 to Tier 8 is and has always been a huge step (for BBs). Usually BBs at 8 get a more advanced turret setup, better AA, are faster, have more HP and what's the most significant: Better armor enabling to bow tank, properly angly and better HE resistency. Meaning: This ship is a Tier 8... especially the fact that this ship doesn't have 25mm everywhere on deck and bow as it's standard for Tier 7 BBs already makes it much more a Tier 8 than a Tier 7. Power creep at its best!

Sorry but you are wrong. Turning circle is everything, arguably more important than rudder shift time. A larger turning circle means more distance the ship needs to cover for the turn which means more time. Granted that this ship is fast which mitigates the bad turning circle a little. I do agree that this ship is overpowered in its current state, it's just that your point about turning circle is simply incorrect. Oh and just in case you think slowing down reduces the turning radius, no it doesn't.

As long as they don't balance it and it ends up losing its aggressive nature. An HP drop is acceptable, shave a bit of armour. But the speed and turret traverse should stay they are too necessary for closing in and pushing. Concealment I'd say can stay or go doesn't matter.

I do think that Sinop is strong, however IJN CV with AP bombs can hurt the Sinop hard. It doesn't have that great AA so that is its weakness

I like, when you desribe almost every aspect of russian BB's you compare for every tier is better then all or 2nd best (except AA). Just shows how "fun" it is because its OP (also you forgot to compare the drag of shells - ofc better then other :D). And the "close" range of 15km when it benefits the super accuracy is actually long range even for tier 10 (as most cruisers can successfully dodge almsot all bb shots from that range). And the dmg con is basicly always an advantage as you basicly will never use in normal BB 5x DCP's in game and survive (only if you let everyone die for you and dcp 1st fires while running away whole game - maybe then you will use 4-5 dcp's in normal bb's).

Exactly. To go through them and still be tanking, you would need people to hit you till you catch fire and then stop shooting....or more likely, after damaging modules and saturating superstructure, people just stop doing he damage to you because lol why not armor. When a ship is balanced around thr entire enemy team focus firing, its broken. I'm going through ranked now and it is awful to play against.
