My favorite part of this video is the grounding. Seeing your favorite CC who plays so perfect make a silly mistake like the rest of us just gives me more confidence as a player. Like "see, even the best sometimes make these mistakes." It makes playing at a higher level seem not so impossibly far out of reach.

Funny, I just got her and played her heavy while you were posting this video. Slower, shorter range, longer turn, weaker AA, and slower reload. While each one of these is just a fraction less than Helena it adds up to a significantly less powerful ship. I stupidly assumed it was the same ship. That said, after a hard start I did really well with her by carefully positioning and picking good 1v1 open water ambush. She is really good at that when your top tier. Definitively made for the more experienced player she has been mostly fun and I do well in her. A real challenge vs tier 9 and it happens often. Good work.

Yeah she’s got a heal which means she can recover HP unlike Helena but the slower speed and shorter range can be real handicaps. This is especially the case on large maps when up-tiered, where there’s not a lot of island cover and the high tier meta tends to be players taking pit shots with big guns at long range. Really frustrating because T7 used to have the best MM (so you saw smaller maps against T5s and 6s and usually at most, 8s) but now you’re uptiered far more often. Sucks because Helena is my most played ship, and I also loved the Atlanta back in the day when T7 was better.

USN cruisers, especially the CLs, are very map and team dependent. They tend to do well as support / area denial ships that have to get in close, preferably with island cover. If the team’s staying at range, or not covering your flanks, it’ll be extremely challenging.

Low DMG = bad map position or even aim (check your % accuracy in Profile), killed a lot =bad map awareness. Two easy tricks can help: stay around-behind bbs and/or learn to use islands to shoot with impunity on targets.

I kept hearing "boysa" and wondered what ship is he using, because the title says "Boi see". hahah, another European thrown off by an American city with a French name for "wooded area"! Aside from that, it's still an interesting ship and way overdue in WOWS. The Brooklyn class were great ships and did exactly what they were designed for in WW2, fight destroyers and other light cruisers and escort carriers. With 5in (127mm) of armor protecting the engine spaces, and a 2in (50mm) deck they were well protected for their displacement. Their speed of 32.5knots and long range made them very effective ships, and all served with distinction. You don't fight BBs with cruisers, except in WOWS! Of course WOWS never lets the fact that other navies never built as many good ships as America did, so they have to use paper designs and flights of imagination to fill out the roster.

Unless the two ships are sailing broadside to each other, an Atlanta will nuke a Boise in a knife fight, even without the Atlanta's torps. As you go nose-in to each to close the distance, Atlanta has almost 2x the DPM: (6x6" @ 6rpm vs 6x5" @ 12rpm, or 79k vs 129k damage). Even if you angle a bit to get the C turret in play (on the Boise), you're looking at 118k vs 129k (and if the Atlanta angles enough to get the side turret in play, you're even worse off - it does 172k). Presuming all hit, and do pen damage, the numbers are 26k vs 43k for bow-to-bow, or 40k vs 57k slightly angled, with Atlanta holding a 50% edge. The Zombie heal isn't enough to compensate for the VERY significant advantage the Atlanta has in firepower, unless you're talking about full broadsides. And if you're giving enough broadside in the Boise to use all 15 guns, well, you're giving enough broadside for the Atlanta to use AP on you. In that scenario - the Boise broadside, an Atlanta nose-in - you're got a 198k HE DPM vs a 151k AP DPM. But that overstates the Boise damage, as you're rarely going to be scoring more than 12 out of 15 on that narrow of a target. Whereas the Atlanta will usually get 12 out of 12, PLUS it will get citadels. In a knife fight, you're gonna get exactly 1 heal. In reality, that's less than 12k you get back. The raw DPM advantage of the Atlanta will overwhelm that pretty fast, particularly if you're not healthy to start with. Knife fighting an Atlanta is a REAL risk, and unless you start with a large HP advantage, the Boise isn't gonna win. Particularly if it's a surprise engagement, where the Atlanta's turret rotation will absolutely blow the Boise out of the water.

In this case the boise wins as he only need to land 5-6 of his salvos which can be easy to do between reloads and consistantly using that bs heal

Pretty sure they are identical in game. The Nueve de Julio was the name of the Boise after it was sold to Argentina. The Nueve history was not proud and WG was criticized for putting it in game at the time.
