This video was so helpful. The format was just so nice and though I'm still overwhelmed, it seemed like just a nice conversation of someone truly trying to help me gather information about the transfer process. Thank you so much!

I am glad I could help! I will role out more content on my www.texadmissions.com/blog in December and January when transfer applicants are getting started.

Hello! Very informative video. I regretfully did not apply to UT as a senior, but I'm planning on applying as a transfer next year. I have a quick question: I know that UT doesn't require SAT/ACT scores from transfer applicants, but would the admissions office look at them if sent? I'm going to apply to a competitive major (computer science), and I think that my SAT scores could improve my chances of admission.

Thank you for the information. What do you think are my possibilities to transfer to UT from UT San Antonio with a GPA of 3.7? (3 semesters)

+Sergio Téllez Noguez Thanks for your message! Depends what major you are seeking transfer. You are slightly above the university average for the typical successful transfer. Best of luck!

+Sergio Téllez Noguez Cool! You should stand a good chance. It's a competitive process, so there are no guarantees. Cross your fingers for good news. Let me know how it turns out.

Hey! Could u please make a video about internal transfers? I want to get into the college of natural sciences by my sophomore year. :)
@UTAdmissionsGuy8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your suggestion. My best advice would be to attend an "internal transfer information session" offered periodically by CNS. The process for each college/school is quite different, and since I don't have experience as an academic adviser, I don't have much to offer.

If I had more than 60 hours of credit going into the transfer process (Moody), when would be your best guest as to the time that I could find out about the decision? Thanks, anything would be appreciated.
@UTAdmissionsGuy7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. I know that UT released some decisions two weeks ago for those who had more than 30 hours completed by March 1. Decisions are released on a rolling basis. It could come any time now. Good luck!

This is a fairly old video so I'm not sure if you'll answer, but I have a question. I'm a sophomore in college and just applied to transfer to Moody with 44 credit hrs and a 3.8 GPA. If I don't get in this year, should I take a gap year and work on LOR's and out of school EC's, or should I stay in school and up my GPA regardless of having 57+ hours? I hear it's pointless to try and apply with 60 hours because you won't have enough UT credits to graduate from there. Thank you for posting these helpful videos!!!

Over my summers in high school I spent my time attending a state university that just so happened to be located in my city. The first course I took was a 5 hour course and I ended up making a D. I was wanting to know if UT admissions take into consideration that this was my first ever college course and that I was only a Sophomore in high school when i attempted this course. I start college next month for the Summer 2 semester but plan on transferring to UT after the first year. Does this 5 hour course hurt my chances of getting into UT?

I am in the CAP program and just finished my freshman year with a 3.5 & I applied to the college of education. Could you share what the average gpa admission is for college of education, specifically applied movement science?

Hello! Quick question. If i have over 40 credit hours by the end of my first semester as a freshman (Because of AP Credits), will UT ask for my Spring Semester Transcript?

Hey! this was a great vid and helped me with some of my questions but some things still aren't clear for me. I actually JUST today got accepted into the CAP program but reading on it, I learned that having a lot of AP classes can affect my course selection as well as hinder getting the 30 hours needed to complete CAP. I feel like if I take any supplemental classes that i take because I have to fulfill the 30 hour requirement, won't really help me achieve my career goals in the future and are a waste of time. At the same time I don't want to go through the transfer process because it is a risk compared to going into CAP, even though I know I can succeed in college as I've had success in AP classes which i feel are good barometers for the rigor colleges are expecting in a college course. And then there's the whole financial situation of my family which is a whole other dilemma related to this, because i got a 4.5k/ year scholarship to go to the University of Houston, which is less than 15 minutes away from me without traffic . Sorry for ranting on about this XD, but i'm just really torn on this, i'm the 1st in my family to go to college an i'm just not sure what to do at this point. I have options which is a good problem to have, and i'm very grateful to have an opportunities like this, other people would love to have my problem, but anyways do you have any tips for me? Any reply would be greatly appreciated

+Ricardo Pocasangre Hey Ricardo thanks for your message. I am sorry to hear you were not offered admission as a first-time freshman. The decision to do CAP can be a tricky one and isn't necessarily for everyone, as you are seeing. Even though you have passing scores on AP, this doesn't mean you have to claim that credit. It is great you have a strong offer from UH, and maybe once you complete your FAFSA you will receive more gift aid depending on your family's income. For now, I would wait until all of your decisions come out if they haven't already along with the financial package awarded from FAFSA. That way, you can make an informed decision of where you want to come when April comes. You have until May 1 to inform your universities of your decision. -Kevin

Thanks for the info. You mentioned that the resume should only include important high school achievements. According to the "What to include" section under "Resume" for applying as a transfer (link below), it says to include all academic and extracurricular accomplishments within the last 5 years, including high school. Should I include my high school activities even if they weren't terribly exciting? admissions.utexas.edu/apply/transfer-admission
@UTAdmissionsGuy9 жыл бұрын
+John Nelson It couldn't hurt. You will always want to include the most impressive/relevant things first.
