Stop comparing Reed Shepard to Austin Reaves. Austin Reaves is 6'4.5" w/o shoes, Reed Shepard is 6'1.75 w/o shoes. Both being white and shooting the three well is not a reason to draw a comparison. Really, the 3 point % isn't comparable either. Austin didn't shoot that great in college at 34%, and is just an average 3 point shooter in the NBA at 36%, so just stop.

We traded our best defensive players (Dejounte and White) Yes we need shooting I'm not arguing on that. But the most important thing is defense! Build an identity everything else follows. Shooting can be taught and developed. I think his ceiling is significantly higher if he puts it all together he could be an All-Star. He is pretty boom or bust though a lot will come down to the shot and development of IQ on both ends but in this draft with so many other questions I have him 7th on my big board

The Thunder pick is really good. As good as the Thunder were are flaws are more apparent than others. Having Shai being so consistent masked the issue of having another shooter with size that can help with spacing. In the Dallas series they put DJJ on Isaiah Joe which hindered his shot. Another thing we need that goes along with a 4 man or 5 is a big wing. JDub had to guard up in size so having someone that can take pressure off of him defensively so he can score more when Shai isnt out there would be nice too. Your video was great as always.

Memphis did a reach before with Ziaire Williams just three years ago. If they want to, they can trade down to get this guy if that’s the agenda. @NOJSIP5 ай бұрын
Sheldon, Your call on Reed is spot on and I think you are even underselling him. People say he is too small on D and this is so not the case. D is about effort, desire and commitment + ability. Reed's effort, desire and commitment cannot be questioned and is off the charts so much that he even overplayed passing lanes and anticipation to get steals and blocked shots. His quick hands, footwork and BB IQ is the abilities how he got 2.5 stl per game, plus these abilities played into his leaping that got him 0.7 blk per...all in 29 minutes per game. If you add those two stats (3.2) together you get a great stat for any size player in the NBA. Project that stat out into full time minutes, over a full career then that stat becomes insane and is only beaten by Hakeem. Size? those projected stats would beat Payton and Curry (both being his size). Will he become this great 2-way player? That is not a given, but it is his ceiling and I view his D as a bonus over his shooting. He is a perfect Udoka type player and learning under FVV is also perfect. FVV is a excellent small PG defender (1.5 stl + 0.5 blk career), in both steals and blocks...sounds familiar?. Another reason to take Reed has to do with their cap space situation going forward. They can get FVV max contract off the books after this season , thus giving them the $$ to resign Sengun and/or Green. This is why I think they will use the pick (cheap 4-year rookie contract) and NOT trade for an expensive player through a trade. Stone has said several times how much they like their roster and so do I. Green will be expendable with Cam (who has been playing SG part-time) and Reed to fulfill his minutes and points with more efficient shooting/scoring. Plus, taking Reed will give the Rockets that 3rd playmaker for the future (replacing FVV) to go along with Amen and Alpi. I doubt Stone will pass on Reed and if he does I for one will be very disappointed for the first time in his draft selections. I trust in Stone. Go Rockets
