4:58 that's the A40, which the M40 runs into, heading into London. The old station platforms were located where the bridge over the A40 is, and the station was rebuilt and relocated to make way for the a new A40 bypass of Hillingdon Circus, which got very congested. Hence the very long footbridge between the station entrance on Long Lane and the platforms.

I am really glad that the London Underground Piccadilly Line have given you permission to film these videos. I think that it is a really good move on their part because it shows just how competent and knowledgeable you and your colleagues are. The 'rabbiting on' both demonstrates that knowledge and competence as well as being really interesting at the same time. Thanks Dale, much appreciated.

Finally got around to watching this video. What a delightful evening to be driving a train on a really lovely and scenic branch line! Thanks again Dale for another great video. I'm glad you drive older stock trains, aligning with my happy memories of traveling on the tube as a kid with my parents & brothers back in the '70s, and being so fascinated with the whole experience. And now being all grown up and old but an engineer, the technical side of it really interests me. Thanks again.

Had to watch this. Whenever I come up to London, sometimes to visit LT Museum Depot, I drop my car at Hillingdon. If I came from near where I live by train, it would be on the Chiltern line from Bicester, that crosses the bridge you mention. I used to go to school on the '73 stock when first introduced. Now 68 and retired, lasted me my entire working life !

@@dalecharmantravels8057 Oh yes Dale, I realise some stuff might be confidential but anybody can have strange or odd things happen at work, even tube drivers! So if you can share any anecdotes it would be good to hear them. Also, if you're driving the last train of the night is 'lamping out' still done by the platform staff and are you allowed to wait for any stragglers to get on board?

I wouldn't worry about there being anything "interesting" in a video, Dale. Or about rabbiting on. Personally, I watch your videos to get out of the house on a mini-trip without actually leaving the comfort of a convenient kettle. And having a commentary, even if it's not about anything important, keeps the mind occupied. I have watched cab view videos without commentary and they can become less engaging if there's nothing but silence for an extended time. Also don't worry about repeating things you've said in previous videos. There's always going to be a fist time viewer who's never heard it before. ;)

For many years, the Piccadilly Line trains on the branch via Alperton used to mainly terminate at Rayners Lane, with trains only continuing to Uxbridge in the rush hours. These days, although there are still more Met trains between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge, the section gets a regular service of through trains on the Piccadilly.

Another enjoyable video, thanks. All jobs get monotonous of course but I imagine one of the pleasures of yours, and for train ops on the other lines with open sections, must be watching the passage of the seasons. Summer evenings such as here may make the surroundings look rather more idyllic than they really are but nonetheless must make for a pleasant working environment. Train ops on the Victoria or Waterloo and City are not so lucky!

Love your content mate, being a frequent Piccadilly Line user I'm sure at some point I would have ridden on a train driven by you! I not sure if you can answer this question, because it pertains to the Southern region trains and not the London Underground, but I notice on their trains that they operate with only one headlight on...but on the underground both headlights are on, I wondered if you knew the reason for this? Keep up the good work!
