Free mantis sectors are hilarious because if you manage to get just a single free mantis from the drop point you can effortlessly get 2 extra free mantis crew members and get a very solid boarding party super early on, often times without spending even 1 scrap or taking any risks whatsoever, not to mention the god luck of getting a warlord crew member through the kakak event

Havent gotten through to watching it yet, but this one specifically I've been waiting for! Super excited for your informed takes. Thanks a lot for doing this! These kinds of games are so incredibly much more fun if you have quality online content like this about them. Hope you get more subs soon!

Node 17 is very relevant to evaluate. Specifically you should be evaluating it against rerouting a different sector on sector 8 and showing up late to the final battle instead of doing Node 17 properly.

Alright well, here it is summarized: Node 17 usually grants you about 6 or 7 beacons worth of exploring before you have to fight the Flagship, there are not many high scrap or realistically any very valuable beacons & events, all while beacons are constantly being taken over by the fleet making your pathing and exploration more and more limited. Node 17 is incredibly unpredictable, even with the v5.4 update allowing you to technically visit two potential stores in addition to the merchant if you want. I would give it roughly low C tier or high D tier because of these factors. Could also consider the fact that if you've lived to S8, your run is quite unlikely to die in the first place, making Node 17 even less relevant to the run's analysis. ...Let's compare this to the worst secret sector reroute, the Jerome Protectorate. The Jerome Protectorate is more or less just an inverse of the Ancient Recovery Site, and of course where you can acquire Jerry on your adventure. On average you can probably take a lot of rebel fights, some fair blue options in that same sector with soldiers or Jerry if you found the Estate beacon immediately, and overall just a very casual sector. The Jerome Protectorate will always play out the same way because of both A) Scripted events every where, such as the Exit beacon or other "be a good person" type of deals and then B) It is a choice to go there or not, giving you more leeway incase you find yourself not needing to go there or would potentially lock you out of doing another questline instead say like Ruwen's meeting. Moral of the story, if you can help it, you do not want to pick the regular S8 over any amount of reroutes. More scrap, more scaling, more things to do, more fun probably too.

Good lord do I agree on how broken the confederate core worlds are. I had a run that ended up with two elite spore weapons and at least 3 regular spore weapons fairly easily, and it’s one of the few sectors where I’ve felt the need to double store just to sell things.

Hey, just wondering if you have plans to do more runs with commentary? I'm trying to improve my gameplay but unfortunately I can't find many vods of people playing multiverse, especially not on a current patch. And for me the runs without commentary are basically useless, without the thought process behind it, decisions can feel pretty arbitrary sometimes. Plus it's just easier to watch stuff with commentary.

At some point for sure. You share this feeling and opinion with a lot of other people too, so don't worry.

nice tierlist. but if prime sylvan isn't the hardest boss in the game, then who is? her? leah?
@tropical16758 ай бұрын
Prior to v5.4 it was hands down the Renegade bosses that could spawn as early as Sector 4, and were unavoidable on Extreme difficulty and likely quite hard to satisfy with tribute on even Challenge difficulty. It was basically instant death. Present day however I would say it's a tie between Sector 2 through Sector 4 renegades specifically, or maybe the MFK Flagship/Vance Prime. The True Ending path is definitely a bit broken as is, in terms of like being able to fight fire with fire using the Obelisk technology and weaponry against themselves, but the Nexus can be so rewarding and power scaling that you can pretty much assemble an actual Sylvan slaughtering machine with just a few beacons around the sector. True Ending takes a bit more strategy and not too horrendous RNG, in addition to the high DPS nature of the Vance fight.

The sansvian renegade boss rips your hull to absolute shreds, even with a level 4 ion blocking shielding system. Not too mention the 4 boarding teleporter, and strong crew.

I think you underrated Spectral Capital? Seems to be the same deal as Lanius Swarmlands: high risk (reapers, auto-dreadnaught, dynasty fights in general tbh), high reward (dessius, alpha ghosts, havoceizer + drive hacker, autopilot scrambler)
@tropical16758 ай бұрын
Maybe a little, but there is still some randomness in the Capital that can often make it unrewarding. The bug with certain unique events vanishing/never spawning in a nebula still exists, and there isn't all that much advantage in scrap value compared to the Swarmlands. Swarmlands is high risk but also a true high reward, Spectral Capital can go either way, and even with a lucky layout where you can hit all the good events/fights, it's often not performing any better than other sectors above it. It's definitely not bad, but there are better uniques for its same cause/purpose. Beyond just scrap.

@tropical1675 true. I forgot about the whole getting nebula'd bit. Makes the nebulae that made it to A/S tier even more impressive.
