Vacant lot in Kansas City neighborhood turned into illegal dumping ground

For the past few years a homeowner in Kansas City’s Historic Northeast said the property next door has turned into a dumping ground.

KCMO as a whole needs to be cleaned up. Now i know that they are helping the homeless. Give them a job to clean. I know alot of the places where they stand and ask for $ are very trashy. They leave it. Install sone type of cement trash cans all over the city for them and people to dump trash. Also, start making large fines for people dumping trash out of their cars while driving. Because everywhere I turn its trashy. That is the next thing the Mayor needs to put on his list. I know he cares and is doing his best to make the necessary changes. God Bless

@@sheritadavis9228 For DRIVERS TO REPORT. I HATE TO SEE PEOPLE DRIVING AND THROW SOME MESS OUT THEY CAR, DIRTY DIAPERS ANTYTHING. THEY WOULD HAVE TO COME UP WITH SOME TYPE OF SOLUTION. I SEE IT ALL THE TIME. ON THE HWY AND STREETS. GOD BLESS. There's cameras eveywhere!!!

Also, off 71 there is a little white lady who picks up trash. The city really needs to pay her. You can find her on the weekends. But you take responsibilty for your neighborhood by picking up trash. BACK in the day people cared about neighborhoods. Get together and clean up and report illegal dumping. God Bless

Drive along any interstate through the city and it looks like a trash dump maybe if they would use inmates to clean up the mess and earn a meal on the taxpayers dime the city would look better

I like your idea. Unfortunately it would be only temporarily. The trash will return. People don't care about the community they live in and local government seems to have forgotten many inner cities.

Kalifornistan is one bug garbage pit because of the homeless population and people that don't want to pay tipping fees at the landfill.

I'm considered poor but walk my street and pick up trash almost daily. Poor has nothing to do with keeping things clean. Though I would agree local government seems to have forgotten about keeping up on their end. Or they

The crazy part is it's not the homeowners fault. People doing the dumping literally choose these places. I couldn't image having my home burn down, and then get cited by the city or have to pay thousands to clean it up. Quit blaming the mayor btw, we need a real solution so let's start talking about how to fix it, and no to cameras on every block. Spend that brainpower coming up with something useful.
