Witty banter and conversations is what keeps loving my parents through their faults (mostly my fathers fault)

Re: cruises. I love them because I don't have to cook, clean, drive or provide entertainment for my kids. HOWEVER, I think you hate them because they are a concentration of lots of things you abhor: being outside, being stuck with other people, making small talk, relaxing (being unproductive ;), and not having wifi. You also don't mind plane travel, so a boat is superfluous to your ability to travel. My husband HATES planes, so a boat is a good option for traveling outside the country. Hopes this helps 😂

Each week I try to put a new quote up on my whiteboard that is from either a book or a podcast or whatever and this weeks is from this episode “I don’t mind making healthy snacks. I do mind wasting my time.” -Jen

Ok. My husband and I have really enjoyed Disney cruises in the past but this is how you do it. Without kids. All the “adult only” areas are practically empty! Also Disney cruise shows are relatively “clean” and service and food is amazing. We rarely did excursions. Because extra money and stressful sometimes. We just stayed on the boat and did all the things on the boat. spa treatments, hair salon, delicious buffets, movies, water slide, listening to your podcast by the pool, 😜 My husband did a surfing thing on the ship, etc. I took walks around a walking loop on outside deck. So. That’s my tip for “cruising”.

Miss you on the Catholic Channel. Heard you on “The Catholic Guy” and figured I would like and subscribe. Best of luck.

Yes, Jen, the problem is definitely you (about cruises) 😆 But yes you are right, part of it is that I love everything being walking distance! It was actually one of the first things I remember loving about cruises!

I could not watch this lady cleaning without your commentary, Jen. Otherwise I would just feel like such a cleaning failure...which maybe I am...but at least I'm not alone 😜

I had to laugh, I’m actually going on a cruise soon. I’ve only gone on a couple; I like the all-inclusiveness of them while see ing multiple cities. Planning a trip to AK and coordinating air, car, hotel, food, etc would stress me out; but with a cruise, my hotel/restaurant pulls up to a city and then all I have to worry about is exploring the town. You may not have a lot of time in each city, but it’s a fun preview to see if it’s somewhere you’d like to come back to on your own and spend more time (and I’d also feel more comfortable coming back having already been there even for a short time.)

Cruises aren't value for money in my opinion, but I can definitely see the appeal. Only having to unpack once but getting to visit a dozen different destinations!

Love Cruises bc we're elderly and it is a good way to see far off lands, eat good food and meet fun people.

Oh my goodness, so so refreshing to hear you let off steam about the water tube. I need stories where you don't always say the right thing in the moment, but calm down, repair and work it out. Because I just can't always keep it all in!!

I agree with choosing the vacation that works for your family. We were planning a Disney vacation when our sons were 8 and 10. As we were getting ready to book everything, we realized this isn't for us. We still went to Florida, but went to the Everglades National Park, Cork Screw Swap, the beach, and other outdoor activities that we enjoyed much more (and it was way cheaper!)

Solidarity sister. I have never had a desire to go on a cruise. I get panicky just thinking about the possibility.
