First. Stevos beanie is awesome. Second great video. If you don’t have or want to buy a smoke machine. You can spray brake clean around and when the engine dies you know that’s the spot.

Good point Mark with the brake cleaner. I've never tried this method, but I did hear a warning you wouldn't want to do this on a hot engine due to the flammability of break cleaner or carb cleaner. Have you used this technique on a hot engine or only cold engines? - Timmy

Not saying it can’t happen. A smoke machine is the right way to do it. But I’ve sprayed red hot headers with brake clean just to see what would happen. Nothing happened😂😂

I was in Evap leak hell with my 2002. I was sending smoke from the engine bay to the fuel tank. I didn't find the leak until I removed the cover under the back seat and saw a little smoke. It turned out to be the small vent tube on the tank. It rusted out and was leaking. I was going to try to patch it but decided just to get a new tank.

I saw another video where the leak was coming from the gas cap. Where would you hook up the fogger to check that?

The end of the filler neck would lead to the gas tank, so you could disconnect the line there. When was the last time you replaced your gas cap? Are you getting a CEL? - Sean

Ahhh, very smart comment. Yes, how is the smoke going to flow through the throttle plate effectively if it's closed. The throttle plate has a tiny gap when closed, but it would be better to have it wide open for this test if the smoke is going to be directed into the air tube. Maybe Sean did this but didn't mention it in the video. I wasn't there, so I don't know. - Timmy
