This song kept me going through a tough time. Several years ago, my 18 month boy had major health problems that required at least a dozen hospitalizations. Thankfully the brilliant NHS were able to help. There were nights in those months when we didn't sleep. I'd walk into work very early in the cold, crisp air, listening to this to raise my spirits and take every day as it came. Music can heal and give hope. This was a tonic to me during that period. Thanks Dave Grusin. Wishing you well.

For God sake You Tube. Why put an advert in the middle of these great videos. Your taking the pleasure out of listening and watching these legendary musicians. It is also an insult to the musicians who are performing.

Wonderful music played by some of the “greats” on their chosen instruments. Where are the new, up coming musicians? Is it lack of work opportunities, changes in audience tastes OR too many free ‘stages’ (like the Internet) where most things can be accessed F.O.C.

One good link leads to another. The shuffle play miracle that is KZbin circa 2019 just sent me this gem from thirty years ago -- unbelievable quality video from mere video tape! Three of the greatest jazz musicians ever to perform live together. Sax giant Tom Scott -- still with us, alive and well. His Wiki entry says in part: "Music director for the 68th Academy Awards in 1996, several Emmy Awards telecasts from 1996 to 2007, Ebony's 50th Birthday Celebration, and the People's Choice Awards telecasts. He has dozens of solo recordings for which he collected thirteen Grammy nominations (three of which he won). He has numerous film and television scoring credits [ ] and appeared on records by the Beach Boys, Blondie ("Rapture"), Grateful Dead, George Harrison, Whitney Houston ("Saving All My Love for You"), Quincy Jones, Carole King, Richard Marx ("Children of the Night"), Paul McCartney, Joni Mitchell, Eddie Money, Olivia Newton-John, Pink Floyd, Helen Reddy, Frank Sinatra, Steely Dan ("Black Cow"), Steppenwolf, Rod Stewart ("Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?") Steely Dan, Aja Tom Scott and Lee Ritenour performing with Dave Grusin -- Dave's Oscar-nominated "An Actor's Life." Really, does it get any better than this? Thanks, Vadim Shinnik. Anyone has a clue of the synth recipe at 0:45 ? Can't reproduce it yet. I don't recognize the model either. Anyway, what an awesome piece of music. I can't find anywhere a book of piano transcriptions of Dave Grusin's best hits, which is a great source of frustration in my life!

I evidently didn't see the credits or names of players that channel host/owner published. Sorry. What amazes me is that these guys were more popular and more well known in Japan than in their homeland. They didn't tour all that much in the USA back in that era. I saw them several times in Chicago with different players each time. An honor to see Dave Grusin. Amazing man, musician.
