VAG sunroof and sunshade calibration / adaptation (Audi VW Seat Skoda)

How to perform calibration of the sunroof and sunshade mechanism in VAG cars (Audi, Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda). If the mechanism in your car is not working correctly, then you might need to perform adaptation procedure. You don't need diagnostic interface to fix it. You can start the end point learning procedure with this tutorial.
ℹ️ In this video you can see #Audi S6 C7 (4G) but the same procedure should work as well in Audi, VW, Seat, Skoda cars and the rest of the VAG group.
#Calibration / Adaptation / Basic settings / relearing of the sunroof and sunshade end positions is needed if:
➡️ single-click open and close is not working,
➡️ comfort open and close from the remote control is not working,
➡️ #sunroof stays open or the sunshade is not closing properly,
➡️ pinch protection is not working,
➡️ mechanical parts were removed and/or replaced,
➡️ roof control module has stored faults about missing basic settings or missing calibration.
💡 Sunroof / sunshade adaptation procedure is easy:
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Press and hold sunroof closing button. In about 10 seconds roof will start to move.
3. Keep holding the button during the procedure.
4. When roof closes and stops you can release the button.
5. Press and hold sunshade closing button. In about 10 seconds sunshade will start to move.
6. Keep holding the button during the procedure.
7. When sunshade closes and stops you can release the button.
8. Calibration of the end points is done. You can turn the ignition off. Your sunroof and sunshade should work properly if there's no mechanical damage.
⚠️ Make sure that sunroof area is free of any obstacles. During the adaptation procedure pinch protection is not working. If there's risk of something getting trap in the roof window, please cancel the procedure.

Is the procedure the same for a dual sunroof (like on the A8)? Or are there additional steps? My front shade won’t close, but everything else works fine.

Thanks for this tutorial. Works also on Audi A6 Allroad C8. Mine has 2 sunroof blinds, one in the front and one in the rear. The rear one was bumping back when closing with position 2. I was able to close it with position 1 by releasing button just before reaching end position. While having rear blind in this “almost” closed position, I held close button in position 2 and after 10 seconds the blind made a “bump” noise. Then I tried to open and close it and now it works correctly and knows its home positions.

do you have a procedure on how to program a new sunroof control panel to the car? original owner broke the panel where it bolts in and I bought a used panel from another car. I have VCDS, just not completely savvy with it yet

Is it possible that the car forgets the initial spot the sunroof is supposed to be in and goes back to the incorrect spot, I’ve tried this method and it still stops in the incorrect spot

Hello and thank you for the video. On the Audi A8L 2015 with 2 sunroofs, will anyone open? eighter the one in the front or the one in the back? Because I can only tilt them, but not open .. Could you help? It has 2 separated sunshades also, one for each sunroof. How can I open the sunroof?

Hi, thanks for the info, I do everything exactly the same way you do in the video and the sunroof do the same things, but still doesn't work, do you know why? My sunroof doesn't open with the button, just with comfort mode using the key. Is like the reset doesn't apply.

I would recommend using diagnostic tool to check faults from the roof control module. There might me a mechanical issues that you need to fix first, then do the calibration.
